Then make a copy of "\Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2\global_controls.sii"
Rename it "global_controls-wheel.sii"
Now setup up controls for your gamepad
Then make a copy of "\Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2\global_controls.sii"
Rename it "global_controls-gamepad.sii"
Now all you have to do is copy the contents from either the wheel or gamepad file and replace the contents of the "global_controls.sii".
I actually wrote a couple of scripts to rename the files accordingly.
The first location is in your Documents\EuroTruck Simulator folder. the two files are Config.dfg and global_controls.sii .. DO NOT edit these two files .. they are "global files, and will affect ALL profiles.
Next, you will have a Documents\Eurotruck simulator\Profiles folder, and inside that folder, you will have 2 more folders whose names are just a string of random number .. THESE are your Profiles, and inside each of these you will find three files that you can edit/copy/paste between profiles to copy/share Controller and Configuration setups
- controls.sii = the Controller settings for that profile, over-rides "global".
- config.cfg = profile specific game configuration
- config_local.cfg = profile-specific "localization" file (aka Metric vs Imperial measure, or Dollar vs Euro monies)
When you setup your Controllers, make sure to be IN the profile you are setting up, (not from the main game "lobby"), so that the SAVE goes in the Profile folder, rather than in the "global" folder.
You can do as SecretOne wrote, and have ONE Profile, and multiple Controller setup, but what you want to do is the above, setup the controller while IN a profile (not from the main game "lobby"), and then copy the Controls.sii, Config.cfg, and Config_Local.cfg files to another folder for safe keeping (I have a desktop folder called Controls, with 2 sub-folders for "gamepad" and "wheel" where I store the three files for each setup) You can then copy these pre-configured Controller files back to the profile, overwriting when prompted, and switch between GamePad and Wheel on the same profile.
