Playing in the Winterland snow
Have to say I really like the visuals, the rumble of the snow, the reduced friction.

The thing I thought was slightly lacking was that there was still too much grip, especially on the frozen lakes, or is this really how trucks handle on snow and ice? I tried pulling some really sharp turns at speed, attempted to turn and brake hard, but could not induce a spin or even a 'handbrake' turn (even on the frozen lakes) with or without a trailer, all I managed to achieve was some extra rumbles, a little under/over steer, and some squealing tyres (on ice, no less). I had expected the heavy trailer to fishtail at least, and on the ice I expected to be doing pirouettes.

I get that it's just a Christmas event, but I feel that this shows how good a snowy landscape could look and I hope to see it again sometime in the future, hopefully with some more fun physics!

You have anti Jack knife technology to thank for that. In the old days it was quite easy to throw a trailer. I was coming down the Shap Summit in Cumbria one night. Heavy snow storm. I looked in my mirror and thought; "That idiot is way too close". When I looked again, it was my trailer coming down to meet me. I swung her across the motorway and she stopped. Luckily it was at night. If it had been in the day time. Maybe a different story. There are Mods. I think, that reduce friction in snow and ice. Happy Christmas.

Maybe a stupid question, but how do I get to drive in the snow or anything sort of christmas like ?

In this thread I was specifically talking about the Christmas event that's currently running (until 14th January 2024, I think), however there is a mod for winter/heavy snow called Frosty Winter (do a general internet search for it), mainly visual but there is an add-on for the mod to reduce the grip a bit too.
