Best way to increase productivity?
I want to know how to increase my employee's productivity because I thought that bulk hiring 150+ people will get me loads of money but their productivity hasn't been going up a lot at all.
I was imagining that having maxed garages, at least one in each country, and trailers for each employee would fast track me gaining money but it's only at 2.3 million per week after idling for 2 irl days.

Idk. I'd appreciate some advice.

huum, game's focus is not management and profit but just driving for the player so, sorry to say, it is the same buy a Iveco 360hp and a Scania 730hp to them. I hope SCS do priority to fix it some 'century'!!!

but... I think you have to play attemption in hired drivers's level as well 'cause It is better one in 7.5 level than 3 drivers in 3.3 level, so, patience is a pre-requisite to play in cool mind!

I dont matter do the math but I guess it is better get profit at the beggining gaming buying small garages because the cost of produtivicty and you have to check if exists some 'lazy' drivers so you must to dismiss him and to hire some other
I have some profiles because the mods, so I can tip this:

- enable level 1 to all hability is priority
- after that enable all ADR cargoes to each one
- enable level 2 to 'time cargoes' (I forgot the name in english, sorry) is cool at the beggining
- When hired driver is in 5.2 level it is good he is in level 3 to distance of the trip at least
- buy your first big garage only after you are in level 35 at least, when you check the produtivity is great than 80% in small garage

@The_Meal: Just out of curiosity, what will you spend all that virtual money on the day you've hired all the game's 341 drivers?
Can you use this game money in real life?

I have ~15 1-2 skilpoint drivers that I hired as cheap as they come in both ATS/ETS2, they earned very little at the beginning. I now have the same drivers maxed and they making crazy money. They will slowly earn skillpoints, you will get there.

Just wait for them to level up, they'll be printing money in no time. Though why you'd want that much is beyond me, even with 15-20 drivers you already make far more then you can expect to spend.

Employers skills:
- enable level 1 to the 'Expensive cargoes' (it opens expensive cargoes access, next levels just increase the reward)
- enable level 2 to 'Urgent cargoes' (it opens important (1) and then urgent (2) cargoes access, next levels just increase the reward)
- after that enable all ADR cargoes (all ADR open some cargoes types but it seems first 3 appear more often)
- then it is good to get level 3 to distance of the trip at least
- then you can enable (level 1) 'fragile' (not recommend for the new employers because this cargoes have a lot damage penalties, so while employer rating is still low, penalties can be more than reward)
- 'Eco driving' seems to be useless because fuel is not expensive - it is better to continue upgrade of all other skills.
It is suitable for your own skills too, but the distance (at least 3) can be more important than opening all ADR
Employers skill points are distributing automatically, so you need to set priority for the employer after you hire him, and then time to time change it if need.
Sleep more and use more ferryboat:
- While you are sleeping or travelling on ferryboat your employers are working and bringing the money for you. So sleep when you can and select cargoes/routes with ferryboats
Garages:
- It is better to buy garages at cities where are the lot (3-5 pages) of good-rewarded cargoes (I preferred 'price/distance' sorting, you can see list of cargoes from the city if click on it on the map at 'cargoes' page).
- Moving your trucks between your garages is free, so it is better to buy it at different areas of the map.
- The upgrade from 1-place to 3-place garage cost is the same as new (3-place) garage cost - so it is better to buy 2nd garage than upgrade your first one.
My garages: Nurnberg (D) , Tallin (EST), Geteborg (S), Clermon (F), also seems to be very good Linkoping (S), Sofia (BG), Stambul (TR), Cagliari (I), Frankfurt (D), Stavanger (N).
Frankfurt is good the same as Nurnberg and Linkoping the same as Geteborg, but it is close to it other, so I think it is better to buy only one from this pairs until you haven't buy garages at other cities from this list.
In GB if you need it, London and Manchester seems to be better than all other - but it is more difficult to drive in GB for me because there are left-side road traffic.
I have no Iberia and West Balkans, so can say nothing about garages at this maps.

Good luck and have fun!

The most productive garages are those in cities with the highest number of companies[trucksimulator.wiki.gg] and located away from ferry ports. If you have a garage on Corsica or Sardinia, for example, the drivers will have to take a ferry effectively every single trip (both out and back from base). This can waste a lot of travel time, especially since hired drivers can't plan rest as strategically as you the player.

Long distance is one of the most important skills for the drivers, though if you give them a trailer make sure it's suited for the cargos that spawn at their home city (and their unlocked skills). As long as you've got income it really isn't too important to maximise profit ASAP, but yes your drivers will earn you a lot of money once they level up sufficiently.

I'm well beyond level 35 but this is definitely helpful!
I'll try these suggestions thanks!

Obviously I can't use the money in real life because this is a game.
Just out of curiosity, do you think that the 8,000+ hours you've spent on this game equivalate to tangible money?

Just gotta wait huh. I was hoping that wouldn't have to be the case lol

Ok so I've seen that long distance and ADR are the best to level up so I'll prioritize that.
And guess I'll have to get more inland garages

Other people have suggested garages farther from the shore so I'll keep that and your own suggestions in mind.
The employee skill meta sounds great and I'll try just that. Thanks!

I'm trying to get all garages on the map and getting all this money will fast track my progress getting there.
Silverbiker Dec 11, 2023 @ 9:47am
I have 59 drivers in 18 small garages and one large garage and only one driver is maxxed.
I just hire and forget.
Turning over 210k per day so you would be able to buy a garage every day but maybe not carry out repairs.

No, not directly.
But if I had instead spent the many hours on other forms of pastime, which cost money with each visit, e.g. movie theaters, casino games, pub visits, gym workouts, etc. such things would have cost me a lot more money than the money I've spent buying ets2, the dlcs, and the steering wheel and pedal set I bought for the game.

I didn't get trailers long time to be free in cargo types.
The distance is very important, I agree. When I hired 2 employers in Nurnberg (there are lot of ADR cargoes) I set 1st employer (who already had 1 ADR skill) priority to ADR and 2nd employer to the Distance (up to 3 or 4) for covering more cargoes by them.
