How to prevent employees from fixing trucks
So after SCS added new damage system and used trucks dealer I was wondering if there's any way to prevent worker form fixing trucks. Now it's not worth buying them used truck because they instantly fix even 5 stars rated truck for at least 50k. So is there any way of stopping them from fixing truck or replacing certain parts?

You can fix them up, but they will continue keeping up with the required maintenance.

If you don't like this then don't give AI workers used trucks. It is possible that SCS will tinker with the amount of money required to fix trucks in a later update.

In AYS I bought a 40,000 mile truck with a 4* rating, replaced the chassis, engine, transmission, cab and tyres.

It would have been significantly cheaper to buy a new truck and I wouldn't have 1% damage that was only fixable by spending quarter of a million bucks.

I Fired all my drivers then sold their trucks. That fixed the problem.

No, there is nothing you can do except not use Hired Drivers.
FYI, Even if you give them Brand New trucks, eventually, THEY WILL decide it is time to replace the Engine, because the truck needs a minor repair.

Why they made Hired help take Authority is beyond me. All they had to do was code in a Notification system..
.. "Driver Edward's truck needs Repairs, and they will not haul any more loads until it's fixed. View your Trucks tab for info".

Notifications are already there in the form of emails your drivers can send you complaining that their truck is broken and they cannot work. As with not giving them a truck at all there is then a follow on email where they quit.

I have not received an email from an employee, about broken trucks, or anything else, in all my hours. I usually get a pop-up message on my screen when a driver has an issue, like no return load.

Maybe it is a thing, and I just have not experienced it yet, idk, but the reality is, even so, I don't check emails while I drive, and I drive like I used to IRL, 24/7 for 5-7 days, then take a few days off. I would not read the emails until it was too late anyway.
-We need a pop-up message, "urgent" in nature, like the "driver can't find work, has returned empty" messages.

At least we now have something to spend all that money so easily earned on now.
Well, not ALL that money but at least its expenditure.
I might even have to open another garage to up my income.
Earning 200k a week with 59 drivers of whom only one is maxxed out on skills.
Also using a hard economy mod.
Employees automatically fixing the trucks they're using is there since the beginning of the game. It only became obvious now because players are using the used truck feature to cut expenses... and it's not working as expected.

We should have the final say when a hired driver is going to spend money doing repairs; just like in the real trucking industry.

It's not the used trucks system, it's the new Repair system .. You never had the option to "Replace" an Engine when your truck needed "Service". You simply repaired the problem. You never had the option for a "complete restoration" at TWICE the price of a new truck in the past ... The Repair System changes should have been locked to "player only", while keeping the "hired Drivers" in their Role of only performing regular maintenance. The SCS Devs failed to see the potential problem of Hired Drivers deciding on their own to use the System, and REPLACE large dollar items, rather than only use basic repairs.

Imagine doing that for more than 350 employees, and some thinking this number of availabe workers isn't enough.

SCS says in their forum that they fixed issues with the used trucks and hired drivers. Hopefully they gonna release it soon.

It's already a mistake giving them used trucks to cut expenses - which can be in very poor condition. I don't think the economy (at least in this case) or the repair system is the problem here. Most like a good adition is the game having an union, and your employees going on a strike for working on better conditions.

It is not limited to USED trucks, this is the point you refuse to see .. They even do it with BRAND NEW trucks, after a period of use.

The devs could put a repair panel where we can choose what repairs will be done instead of a full restoration etc.

I started doing this myself to the truck I'm driving since it was added. I'm glad I don't have to deal with the ones my workers are using. And it's not like they do the full restore that frequently. I didn't see this high increase on expenses since I started playing on Kansas, and I've already hired one employee for each garage. Neither the new ones, nor the ones on older states are such a money sink.
