Truck dealers no longer selling older models
I don't like this change. Should it matter if a model is outdated in real life? They've always been a part of the game and I don't think they should have removed the ability to acquire those trucks at fresh condition. Is there any possibility SCS will reverse that particular decision?

Chances of that being reverted are very unlikely.

Again proof that it is impossible to please everyone.

For several years there have been players who have expressed a desire for the ability to buy used trucks... and now that it has been added to the game, of course there will be some who complain about it.

Regarding the sale of discontinued models, it is a realistic thing, since you won't be able to buy a brand new car/truck of a model that has been out of production for several years.

They could have kept all trucks in the new truck dealers while implementing buying used trucks.

Now you find the older models (quite cheaply) in the Used Trucks dealership but you have to bring them up to road-worth condition yourself. The upkeep that previous owner did not do...

IRL. do the brand truck dealers have a bunch of out-of-production models in his inventory?

I don't have a problem with it added to the game, but I do have a problem with the fact that I can't buy the truck I want to play with when I start a profile and it's a nuisance that when I finally find it at the used truck dealer (because not every model is available at all times) I have to get it fixed and upgraded first, and that's just the player part of me :-)

The making mods part of me is even more annoyed because that part needs trucks available instantly for testing, but can't hold that against SCS :-)

Too much to ask for a break from reality on this point?

There are also people who complain when they find something in the game that they find unrealistic.

there's a currently easy mod to make, but you need the 1.48 def files and copy the truck_dealer info to a mod, then you get them as new at the truck dealer again, and in the mod dealer ;-)

edit, i suppose you could use the 1.49 files for used and change some details and rename the folder.

People only want certain realities in the game. Generally their own.
Getting out of the truck and having to eat and drink and stuff? Sure.
But the tedious paperwork as the owner of a logistics company? Nope!
I looked at it again and it seems you can still see older models under the fleet configurations tab in the truck dealers. Haven't tried it just yet, but does that let you purchase new trucks of outdated models if you already own at least one truck of that model?

It does yes.

And is that deliberate or is it an oversight they'll correct later on?

That I don't know. Seems like an oversight to me, but we'll see.

Either way, it's stupid decision from SCS that's exactly the kind of too much realism I hate in games and should be reverted ASAP. But sadly, I doubt it will be, because I've bet SCS was pushed to this by the truck manufacturers who only want to promote their most recent models. That will not change, though, game-wise it was stupid decision.

If truck manufacturers wouldn't want their old trucks in the game they could revoke the licence. Simple as that.

It is more as I said:
