Why do updates take so long?

This is probably the only game (alongside ATS) where updates seem to take 10x longer than necessary.
My download speeds on Steam, either entire games or other updates, run around 2mb/s

This one wants to drop down to 60kb/s. As if it's struggling or how it's dealing with the internal file pieces. And I can't seem to get the speed up to what it should be.

Either an internet connection issue on your or on their side. Nothing else I can think.

Had no issue downloading the update with the full speed of my 100 Megabit connection.

But I have no internet issue on my side. I run MMOs with this, I download just fine. It literally only drops to this when I'm updating ETS2/ATS.

Has nothing to do with ETS2 or ATS. But you might change your steam download server to a different (nearby) country or city.

So maybe it's indeed on their side, and you were "lucky" enough to download at the same time as many other players. This could be a bottleneck.

I have reported this issue, as have others. Yet the white knighters all insist the problem is our systems. How many need to have the issue before it stops being our system and becomes a problem with the game updates?

If everyone has it. Seriously, the update was done in 3 minutes for me and most of that time was downloading it.

This ONLY happens with ets2/ats. Other games can d/l and install 30gb patches faster than these do 1 gb patches. Are you saying my ssd dislike just these two games and slows down only for them?

Which was in my case less than a minute. Having a fast M.2 SSD speeds up that process.

I am saying that the issue is on your end. But go ahead and complain to Steam and see what they say about it.
