Why can`t I sleep whenever I want to!
I´m currently in Berlin and I want to take a job from Berlin to Leipzig, since that is the only city in Germany that i haven`t visited. And here comes the problem, I drive to the hotel, gets to the parking spot and tries to sleep, but it doesn`t work! All it says is "This is a resting place, but you are not tired now". So here comes the question, do you have to be "tired" to sleep now?

You must have rested very recently and you can only rest twice in a short period of time. To be able to rest again some time needs to pass. Don't know how long you have to wait though.

It's European Laws... Period... You can't endanger traffic with parking whenever you want to.

You clearly did not read the OP.

Maybe you deactivated the Sleeping-Simulation in the options?

It's always been that way in ETS2. There must be a code block in the game engine somewhere that increments a variable everytime you sleep without driving in-between those sleeps and prevents the 'sleep mode' when that variable reaches a certain value. Once you get behind the wheel that value starts dropping until the 'sleep mode' is enabled again.
The number of sleep periods in a row without driving seems to be 3.
That's about as plain as I can figure it.

Just touching on the other side of the coin, it's long been a request by the community to have the option of just pulling up anywhere off the road and sleeping. Because you have to "connect" with a point on the map in order for sleep mode to be triggered, it seems logical that you can't trigger it from the cabin without parking over one of the connect points.
Same as refuelling, repair shop, taking jobs at companies, etc.
I reckon they'd have to change all the maps to remove those triggers and then add a single trigger to a key/button action. Lotsa work.

This doesn't prevent a player from triggering sleeping at a parking/sleeping point. The option you mentined actually simulates fatigue, not sleeping.

But they could add new official lay-by`s and triggers for 1hr power naps.
