There's a search box at the top right for a reason. If you use it you will see many, MANY posts about this. There is no 22 Gb update, Steam had to write the new data, in this case all of 280 Mb, into the game files on your disk, which total 22 Gb.
It has always done this and as far as we know, always will.
If you look at the "manage downloads" tab at the bottom of the page, you'll see exactly what is going on. And it doesn't do any harm to your disk, before you ask.
moving the file out, de-compiles, writes the new patch info into the file which it affects, compiles the file again and moves it back to where it belongs.
so many peoples dont know how it works and think that it is a huge update but never look how big the update was.
the worst topic i´ve seen was "ETS2 destroy´s SSD´s" nah it doesnt.
if peoples are worried that maybe once in a week a 10~20GB file gets rewritten on their SSD should they uninstall windows from their PC because windows overwrites, writes, deletes temp files and cache 24/7. if those peoples would know what windows all day long while it runs does would they run in panic around and probably never stop until someone uninstalls windows from their SSD.
sorry but with your complaint sounds it like you do nothing else then playing ETS2 and the 5 minutes is such a horrible interruption for you that you need to make a forum post about it XD.
@weiss: apparently my post was such a "horrible interruption" for you that you needed to insert your pointless 2 cents. Also, it's quite the contrary - I don't play 24/7, my playing time is limited so those 5 minutes hurt.
you seem to be just a troll by now.
i mean
literarly shows you but ... you still say its a 22gb patch and staying stubborn even after someone rubbed it into your face how wrong you are.
typical troll bait.
I don't usually post in Steam forums, is it always so toxic?
