Why change name of a continuously updated game? ETS2 of 2023 is not the same game as ETS2 of 2012.

If SCS needs to change version number it would probably be to ETS2 2.x or something like that.

ETS3 won't be happening in the next 20+years.
Sando 29 out. 2023 às 5:14
I want ETS3 as well because this one has really outdated graphics. We need something new and fresh.
Cathulhu 29 out. 2023 às 5:31
Compare the graphics of the current ETS2 to the version the game started with.

Depends on how you interpret the name...

"Europe" Truck sim, as in drive in Europe..

or...

"Europe Truck" as in the style of truck Sim..

Here in Aus, we have both Euro trucks and American style trucks..

So any where that uses Euro Style trucks could be created depending on interpretation..

SCS uses their OWN Prisma 3D and they will uses in future, They dont need ask from you what you want. One reason is at its fits to their truck simulators, ATS and ETS2.

That tells me you haven't seen how the game looked 11 years ago.

imma say it like this.
if anyone here which wishes a eurotruck simulator 3 is willing to negotiate and paying for the licenses of the trucks to be ingame for ETS3 am i pretty sure that SCS would inmediatly start to develop an ETS3 with your guarantee that you do all the negotiation and payment stuff for the truck licenses.

again, like written many times already.
it would cost A TON OF MONEY!!! to re-license all the trucks for ETS3.
this is one of the main reasons why ETS3 will probably not happen.

not to mentition that the new PC generation nowadays is super picky when it comes to fps and co. dev costs would probably jump who knows where and if the game dares to jump just 1 fps bellow 60 would it get rewiew bombed from all the FPS nerds out there where the eyes start to bleed as soon anything drops bellow 60fps.

not to mentition that for some reason triple AAA game studios having issues to get a game propperly running on the new gpu generation which could be either their fault or the manifacturers fault while the game runs flawless on older gpus.

like for example: a lot of peoples with the 30xx series and 40xx series had issues with elden ring ... meanwhile me with my 2060super ... no issues at all ... same with hogwarts or starfield ... its super weird that the new gpu generation has so much issues. nowadays is it better to keep a 20xx in the PC rig and not buying a 30xx or 40xx xD.

so, iunno if SCS wants to go through all that. i assume more that they will just complete ETS2 EU region wise and could even expant upon it aswell

for example: someone here wrote "australia is not part of the EU." yea and? so is russia not part of the EU and they had a DLC planned for it until ... certain things happened.

so, they definitly could do non-EU stuff in ETS2.

The maps and DLC are nothing to do with membership of the EU, it is the geographical area commonly referred to as Europe that "Euro" is referencing, not the geo-political entity of the European Union.
ETS3 is a non-starter for all the reasons stated already, and there is still a lot of Europe for the devs to create new DLC maps for, as well as improving existing maps as they have been doing for years.

That is complete nonsense - Switzerland, Norway, and Turkey are not EU and UK is not anymore. As is half of the new Balkans DLC. EU is not geographical Europe, as USA are also smaller than geographical North America. And the games are called neither "European Union Truck Simulator" nor "United States Truck Simulator". So there is still a lot of geographical area to cover with both games and no need to new games there.
And then of course no one would be sad, if they then continued with Middle East, North Africa or deeper into Russia - if there are no political turbulences some people can't stop to drag into computer gaming stopping the extension of the game.
If they want to place new games, they will probably be about new geographical areas like Asia (would probably be enough space for several games about different trucking cultures), Australia or South America.

Still plenty of room to make Asian, African, Australian and South-American Truck Simulator.
we should be covered for 50 years or so. :steammocking:
Ignoring modern day politics and current events.

Russia Truck simulator.
Ural, Kamaz, Isuzu.
The days I wish I could play it. Shame really.
Tbh the only geographically divided part of Earth that would require a new game is Australia. They could easily expand ETS2 to Asia and ATS to South America.

Let's do some imagination exercise then. Let's say ETS3 will be released tomorrow. What would it feature on day one, besides better graphics?

Honestly - i don't think they can even better the graphics because there's not that much to include as graphics even. Maybe, volumetric dust clouds and stuff.... but i don't really care about stuff like that.... or maybe add seasons.
I hope people have played this in 4K and have seen what the game is like in 4K. It's all you can ask from a truck simulator honestly.

so, you both are willing to pay for the truck license stuff then? good.
because both of you ignored that part, the only goal of you both was to bash someone xD.

This thread has taught me a lot of people don't understand the difference between the Landmass that is Europe and a Diplomatic agreement that is the E.U.
