If you click on picture and magnify it you will see "CC" lit up above the speed setting.
If you have a gearbox without a retarder fitted you cannot use Cruise Control AFAIK.
I may be wrong but certainly I found that out with my Volvo.
So, as far as I'm concerned I have no issues with cruise control, take the we out of your statement and, as stated above, get your frigging k/b fixed
All the trucks I play with have a CC icon, If you have ACC selected in the game options then it's always active, there's no need for a separate icon.
Unless I missed something and there's a separate key for it to turn it on/off on the go :-)
