Bug Report | West Balkans FPS drop by half
Usually i have 100 - 60 fps. In playing West Balkans i noticed that my fps have dropped to around 30 fps in "Leibach" and South of "Zagreb".

It does not really bother me but i just wanned to mention it anyway ^^

I had to google to find out where Leibach is. Since when are Ljubljana (Leibach) and Novi Sad (Neusatz)? These are strange german names for the cities in the Balkans.

from wiki

From 1809 to 1813, during the "Napoleonic interlude", Ljubljana (as Laybach) was the capital of the Illyrian Provinces.[38][61] In 1813, the city returned to Austria and from 1815 to 1849 was the administrative centre of the Kingdom of Illyria in the Austrian Empire.[62] In 1821, it hosted the Congress of Laibach, which fixed European political borders for that period.[63][64]

Slight FPS drops on my end but nothing that big. That is on a i7-11800H, 16GB RAM and a RTX3070 Laptop GPU with 8GB VRAM.
Stating your hardware specs would help.

Then maybe we should start calling Istanbul, Constantinople. Seriously, I'm all for stopping confusing people unnecessarily. All you have to do, is to open Google Maps in Germany and you will notice that neither Leibach nor Neusatz is shown on the map.

according to German language wiki, Ljubljana's German name is Laibach

similarly, Austria's capital, Wien is Vienna in English

Nobody in Germany calls Ljubljana Laibach, that's ridiculous.
Wien is Vienna thats normal and correct.

Deactivate SSAO and set the rest of your settings to high. Leave scaling as is.

Okay will try this later.

I noticed the same thing, My Pc is nothing to write home about, but the discrepancy between the performance of BtBS and WB is significant. I stay well above 70Fps with my current settings everywhere else, On WB, it's frequent to drop to low 30´s. This points to some clear optimization issues in the new DLC.

It would if they had the same amount of detail which is not the case. West Balkans is way more detailed than RttBS which came out for 1.36 4 years ago. More details are more stressfull on the hardware. So you can not compare this.

That may be the case, but the PC in question is still above the minimum reqs for the DLC, and frankly, the higher detail does not seem to be different enough to justify a drop in performance from 90-70FPS to 30FPS from one DLC to another.

As for the comparison, I can and I do. It's the same base of comparison between all previous DLC, both Iberia and Scandinavia (and scandinavia was arguably the most detailed one) were far more detailed than the Base map, and yet performance did not get hit that significantly either.

Creating such a huge discrepancy betwee two DLC's of the same title is just a great way to lock out old users from new DLC. It's terrible for business. Every current owner of the title should be expected to be able to run all conten for it at the same standards. A dlc is not exactly a brand new title where they can set new standards. Because if your theory is true, then everyone with a PC like mine of below that play every other DLC just fine, will no longet buy further map expansions. That does not make much sense to me tbh...

It's heavier but it shouldn't make that much of a difference. From my experience ETS2 runs better if you lock the fps somewhere so you only have to find what's the lowest fps you have and lock the fps below that.
