Owned lowbed trailer
Looking in the cargo list using the available browsers excavators go on a lowbed. But apparently I can't load the excavator on a trailer with 4 or more axels.
I see why you can't load heavier cargo on a lowbed with less axels because of weight distribution, but I can't see the reasoning behind why the excavator has to go on a 3 axel lowbed.

I purchased a 5 axel extendable to be able to transport all the cargo which is loaded on a lowbed.
Could someone please explain to me why I can't do this?

A lowbed is designed to carry very heavy equipment. The mass is easier to load, secure and transport. The load has to be spread out to stop the trailer from buckling or splitting or on an uneven road, toppling over. Try getting a 30 ton excavator on an ordinary trailer...You might do it with a crane, but the first uneven bit of road, the whole thing will roll over. What you need is a low centre of gravity. If the load you want to carry, is not spread out evenly across the axles, you will not be taking it.

I guess I was unclear when I wrote "I purchased a 5 axel extendable to be able to transport all the cargo which is loaded on a lowbed."
What I should have written
I purchased a 5 axel extendable LOWBED to be able to transport all the cargo which is loaded on a lowbed.

Are you sure that the market has an excavator at the company where you are looking for a job?

Yes.

Here's a series of screenshots explaining the issue

And here it seems that in a comment in the picture you actually see a possible cause of the problem yourself (due to color change on the excavator)
Remember that other players can also see and take the same external contracts that you can see.
So a possible reason could be that another player grabs the excavator while away from that market to browse around for other things in the menus.

Not if I switch from external to my own trailer cargo list within a second. It took a while to take the screenshots. I'm is almost certain this would be the same for the singel player cargo, but naturally I didn't think I had to. But thanks for the insight. I'll return(again)
[edit]
This make no sense

Although I can load the excavator on my 4+ lowbed, why can't I load the same excavator and why isn't the first excavator in this list?

The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

I think that the answer to this is the same as I gave in this post on another thread: https://steamcommunity.com/app/227300/discussions/0/3832045251550481948/#c3832045251552267592

Just wow! I'm baffled but thanks!
Still not sure why the two single player excavators aren't the same for my own trailer.

I do WoTR contracts because of the statistics but recently I regret putting so much time and effort into it since I've noticed quite a few bugs with WoTR contracts and how the game handle things differently. Seeing that SCS recently added similar statistics for the single player cargo I don't really see a point in continuing to do WoTR contracts.

That answer only related to External jobs, and I only belatedly spotted that you were confused by the Cargo Market too. This was originally intended to be an edit to the previous post, but you beat me to it, so...

When it comes to the Cargo Market no one really knows _exactly_ how it works but one of the random factors that plays into which jobs you see is the trailer you have attached. Those jobs are generated from a series of (up to) ten seeds and based on a lot of playing around I did not long after ownable trailers were first introduced, those seeds feed a series of random number generator controlled selections which generate different jobs for different trailer types probably something like:

for each source depot
determine number of seeds to use
for each seed
select an urgency
select a distance range
select a cargo
select a target depot

I experimented a lot across the different trailer types available at the time, but that was before lowbeds and lowboys and I did not try with different axle configurations. What I saw was that a given source depot might generate zero, four or ten jobs for each trailer type (although there were some variations) and that those jobs (if generated from a given seed) would always have the same urgency and distance range but that often the cargo and target depot were different.

I also discovered that some trailers seemed to get the same jobs (eg. a dry van with a side door and a dry van with a moving floor were identical and matched the equivalent Krone) whilst others did not (dry van, insulated and reefer all generated different lists).

Bugs or quirks? Any particular examples?

For me there are two main reasons - variety of jobs (and therefore variety of destinations) from any given location and the fact that they make it possible to choose to drive mostly in daylight (by double sleeping every second duty cycle)

Thanks The Pitts
You probably know more than the actual SCS designers how the game logic works when put to practical tests.
Your conclusions are like if you read the actual code, I'm impressed!

anyways...

If the Cargo Market (single player) is generated from what type of trailer you have attached that would explain why I got a different company and destination for my 4 axel lowbed.
The Cargo Market excavator is on a 3 axel lowbed.

For WoTR my latest issue is this

WoTR contracts compared to Cargo Market with your own trailer differ on how time is spent loading and unloading cargo.

There are other things which bothers me with WoTR contracts, some I have posted but since the forum history doesn't go as far back and trying to search for stuff isn't easy on Steam.
At times I also get deterred from posting my findings here on the Steam forums as well as on the SCS forums.

Yes now when you mention it, sleeping will be a huge issue for me. :[
I didn't think of this, it's been years since I did a regular singel player cargo. (the special transport not counted) and I'm not sure about the cargo but it's easier to see which cargo is available at a specific time as you can see an overview or select locations which you can't do with WoTR contracts(only the direct vicinity circle or closest town you've selected)

When my driver get sleepy and the timer is nearing 0 and I stop to rest I console the time to 22:00 (i.e. skip time) so I always drive during daylight because the performance of ETS2 and ATS especially just dies on me when driving around during early morning, late evening and night time. (but that's another topic)
