The way the fines work is ridiculous.
Literally got fined 1m past speed limit sign where speed went from 130 to 80 like come on..

I just ended up turning off fines. Between the speed fines, AI cutting you off and stomping on the breaks, or just driving into you, it was wasting money for stupid reasons.

I still follow all the laws but without loosing money for every little tiny mistake.

As Olav. I have turned off the fines because I think the game is too picky.

It is perfectly possible to follow the traffic rules without the fine "threat".

Yes they are. This is an long term issue, that is still ignored by the devs. At least we can disable that pain in the bottom.

Fines disabled here too. For the same reasons Olav states.

Since the speed limit change is applied directly at the sign cops are thus technically allowed to fine you when you are speeding directly after the sign.

Yes in real life, because here in Ireland you've indicator signs before the speed limit signs. You're driving down the motorway your speed limit won't suddenly jump from 120km/h to 80km/h,there's always some leeway between the sign and a speed camera.
But in this game there's no, pre-warning signs that i've seen off and the fine is instant the second you cross the line, quite unrealistic.
I've gotten more fines in this game in 1day than i've gotten in 13 years of driving IRL and i've a HGV license :D

Which is odd because ATS has them.

There are no pre warning signs in most places in real life either.
At least here in Germany in never saw such a thing.

If you are anticipating you would not still be doing 130kph whether there were preparatory signs or not. I agree that some such speed limit changes are fairly arbitrary but most are fairly obvious (approaching a roundabout, or a built up area, for instance)

There are a huge number of mods that adjust fines in various ways, for example:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2649770702

It is also easy to fine tune the values after downloading a mod. The chances of being fined is a combination of a delay (before the fines start) & a probability (chances of being fined).

You are not allowed to exceed 90 Km/h in the UK and Europe, why would you NOT be fined for going 130 Km/h? Euro trucks are fitted with speed limiters now, so should never exceed 90 km/h on any road.
Don't like fines = turn them off in options
Otherwise drive like you know what to do as a trucker, not a motorist, and look at the signs and area you are in.

Well chad Romania (see what i did there) is a exemption being a whopping 110 km/h. UK is 96km/h (or 60mph*). But this is the MAX speed as for governors EU regulations are to my limited american knowledge required on all NEW heavy duty vehicles to not exceed 90km/h to be road legal outside of ones own national boarders if their country has higher speed limits such as Romania. But that's my understanding.
But yes your points still stands. Why is op going 130km/h. No country ingame allows that kinda speed. ALSO outside of Poland (and 1 road in the uk that my memory might be playing tricks on me) all speed cameras have warning signs that you are approaching one that are at a reasonable distance. There is 1 in Poland that the speed goes from 80kph to 70 within 50m a camera but there was a sign stating that camera was ahead.

This "SLOW" warning was most likley put there because of a hidden turn intersection on a high speed road based off that 100kph sign and the slow warnings keep going after the speed sign. Based off my research if this image is in europe 100kph is the top speed on "secondary" roads in your country thus the "slow" is NOT apart of the speed change. There have probably been a lot of crashes there for that many warnings to be placed. Most countries in Europe don't have or use "speed change ahead" signs is my understanding. While SOME do use them they are quite rare.

Also if europe has some similar ways of fines like the usa to commercial vehicles then the ingame fines are way too low. They should be like 4000 euro+.

I don't mind fines so much but getting fines when you go through yellow lights feels unfair. Roundabouts are not as bad as they used to be. AI might work a bit better in general than before.
You just have to learn that towns, drive-offs and tunnels have lower speed limit. And ruthlessnes of cops in the game is offset by relatively low punishment - IRL you do that twice and thug life will choose you.
