I'm sure it's nothing to do with the fact the game is 10 years old and everything gets cheaper as it ages. Except houses.

Like anything I guess, give people a cheap entry point to get them interested, then charge more for later stuff once they are hooked. Same with things like phone contracts, Sky subscription, drugs, etc etc

Just wait for the sales to buy them. A few weeks ago everything was on sale at -75%, making most map DLCS about 4 quid each, and even cheaper if you buy the bundle. I got the base game, Going East and Italia for about a tenner in the last sale; now I’m waiting for the next sale then I’m buying all the other maps and the cargo packs.

Edit: actually the game is £16.89 and the DLCs are mostly £14.99, so not sure what you mean …

You guys think there's going to be a steam sale soon? I got ATS after trying the demo and really liking it. Thought about getting EST as well after the demo. I didn't think I'd like european trucks just as much as american ones, but here I am.

Commercial decision by SCS in agreement with Steam. Prices go up and down according to market forces, that's just the way it works. Anything you want, put it on your wishlist and Steam will message you when it goes on sale.

DLC are fully optional, you can play without them.
