Anyone use this site to download mods? If so, the mods are safe or they have a virus or something like that?

If you want to get mods either use the Steam Workshop or the links provided in the SCS Forum (will post the link to there separately due to the Steam Auto approver bot likely messing up again). Also, get ProMods only from the ProMods website. This makes sure that you will get the mods from the actual mod authors and not from some mod thieves.

The problem is not the mods offered on the website (Any of them). The problem is the advertisements that 'appear' like genuine downloads.

I have 70+ mods and whilst some are w/shop the majority are from a mod website which I have been using for years without issue.
Whilst w/shop mods are deemed safe the range is pretty limited (IMO).
I use all Jazzycats traffic mods for instance which you cant get from workshop as files are too big alongside some others.
I also use Pendragons Volvo and again that's not from workshop but is on SCS forum website which makes it safer but can also discuss mod with the author.

SCS do not host any mods at all. Even mods listed in discussions at SCS Forums are 95% Sharemods, or MediaFire etc. Some folks use their Google Drive which is safest of all, but they're always external downloads.

There are numerous portals where you can search and download mods. Of these, I prefer allmods.net because you can search very specifically there and the mods can be downloaded directly there without having to click away any whatnot.
No matter what and from which source I download something, the first thing I do is have a virus scanner check the file. In addition, I only use Windows as a restricted user, which makes it difficult to make changes to the system using malware, since I have to confirm them with the administrator account and the associated password. It's annoying at times, but it's much more secure than most primary Windows users (preferably with User Account Control disabled).
