Refresh rate/VSYNC settings are ignored
First time I played it seemed to work, FPS were capped at my monitors 240fps both in the menu and on the street (usually 120fps there). But now it does not seem to work anymore the second time I play: VSYNC is ignored completely and so is setting a refresh rate (like to 120Hz).
This leads to 2000 fps in the menu with my GPU firing up as hell and very inconsistent FPS especially in the cities, which I don't like either.

Can anyone help here?
Just to mention, I am running on Linux (Arch), but since it worked right after the installation I guess that itself should not be the issue.

Probably not gonna like my response:
I have never gotten vSync to work in the menu on ETS2/ATS on Windows. It has never worked for me. Unless GPU software can limit it outside of the game, I don't think we the player can fix it.

What fixed this issue for me is to run either ETS2 and ATS in Window Borderless mode.

I tried that, but it seems it does not help either :/

Does the same apply to refresh rate settings on Windows? My GPU usually manages >120fps so if I could cap it on that it would probably be somewhat stable.

VSync works on my end without issues.

However, if you have a Nvidia GPU you can also limit the FPS via the Nvidia Control panel.

This is a subject I know very little about, but I have Vsync set in both the game settings and in the settings for the Nvidia card and that works for me, like Wolfgang mentioned.

In case the config file is needed for testing, here is mine:

The global config file contains all the graphic settings including VSync (I have mine on economic so 30FPS since I gotten used to it over summer and I can get higher graphic settings with it).

I have an AMD card (6700XT) and while it generally works perfect with Linux, the GPU driver utility is not as complete as the one in Windows - meaning it lacks these settings. Before I used the MSI Afterburner which worked fine, too.

I will check the idea witth the config file though, maybe that helps, thanks! :)

I found a workaround, at least:
Startup the game and enter any save game. From there open settings and activate the refresh rate you want and ALSO V-Sync. Apply, quit the game, then restart. Now V-Sycnh can be disabled while refresh rate stays on.
This has to be done every time or at least V-Sync has to be turned on before quitting the game, alongside the refresh rate setting. Also it does not work if you change the graphic setting from the launchpad, it has to be done from inside an active save game.
