If the game starts to update, just press cancel. Updates improve the game and add content.

Look into the ETS2 folder in your documents. There should be backup folders ending with ".bak". Copy the contents of the latest folder into the profiles folder.

Steam will eventually update your game and there is no way around it.

right click the game in steam, go to properties, select updates and uncheck the keep game updated and download updates while i am playing to have to force updates when they release and are convenient to you

That is wrong , we have to be able to decide if we want that !!! I did not update to 1.47 because of this reason and that does not support many mods, plus the developers for stupid small updates they make new versions...

This update is not 1.47. It is a small bugfix update. You are still on 1.46 and your mods should not be affected at all.

The devs do not support mods at all and are not required to maintain compatibility with them.

Just right click on the game, Select Properties and then Betas. Then select the version you want. As long as you are locked into that, the game will not update.

Right click on game, right click properties, right click betas, then select temporary 1.46_1.46 for non compatible mods and run that. It will never update.
BTW, I run Pmods along with 84 mods and rarely have issues as I follow the rules for mods.

You're aware that it is not in SCS' but in the modders responsibility to update their mods?

You can also simply copy the game to anywhere else on your computer - Steam only ever updates the copy in the Steam folders itself. The copy would never get overwritten.

I do this to keep multiple Alphas of some games on my PC.
