Hmm would be awesome though ..
The game could use a big server aswell, so we all that do play this game can play in the same gameworld instead of only peer to peer limited game worlds !

I would say this is likely going to happen in the future. But if you expect the TruckersMP MMO style then this very likely won't happen.
That sucks if you ask me .. the game could be so much more fun
A dev is talking about it in this video:

A.P. 101 is mostly just doing clickbait videos and absolutely not regarded as a source around here.

granted the video is of quite poor quality, but still.
I imagine that the majority of people who play ATS/ETS2 don't have such hardware. And with prices continuing to rise, it's getting more and more expensive to get even a half-decent GPU that can even do ray tracing. I'm stuck on a 1070 because I'm not paying the nVidia tax to upgrade. Nor do I even have the money to get a new $700 GPU right now.
Either way, I don't think SCS will even bother with Unreal anyway. They have their own engine that they know inside and out as they coded it from scratch two decades ago. They can't simply just switch engines unless y'all want to wait the 5+ years to get new licensed trucks in, limited brands, EVERY mod having to be completely made new from scratch, buy each new DLC one-by-one again, etc... Oh, that's not to mention the training they'll have to do to the staff in order to switch internal tools to a new coding method and the money spent to do that. And, SCS would, likely anyway, pay royalties to Epic if the game makes $XXX amount of money in a fiscal year or something.
Yeah, I think SCS has something good with Prism3D. Not every game has to have ultra-realistic-see-the-pores-on-humans-epic-high-definition-textures to look good. I've not liked the trend in some games trying to make them super-ultra-epic-pretty and yet have some of the shallowest gameplay imaginable. (not always the case, but tends to happen)
Yeah i think this game could look awesome with this kind of graphic engine, if you ask me
Of course it would look awesome. The only problem is that only folks with high end machines would then be able to see it. Doesn't seem like a sound business move to suddenly drop a large portion of the player base just to have HD quality textures everywhere...
