I should add my primary experience is playing this with promods over it, so there may be some dramatic differences. If you get all the map DLCs and PM though, it does help largely fix going east and makes it much better (and larger.) It does fix Going East's territory significantly and brings it up to a more modern state (more polish Autostradas, added major missing cities, and many rural roads added that can lead through smaller towns.)
A real cool canyon with train tracks is the best spot.
But the latest maps have a better graphics quality than the oldest maps.
But maybe you should consider taking the step fully and going for Map Booster where you are currently getting 6 maps for 25.45€
