Landmarks you might recognize but just generic places without one (both in game and IRL) likely not.
I had chance to travel to South Italy years ago albeit not by car, but at that time I made use of Villa San Giovanni station and the game depicts it and its surrounding beautifully ^^

But seriously, having driven only around the standard base maps (I've got the DLC packs planned) though most of the views appear genetic, the devs have done a great job at making each country FEEL different and accurate with seemingly very little to work with given the scale and general graphics quality employed. So yeah, it's a thumbs up from me, but really, just keeping the rig between the lines at 80km/h doesn't leave much time for window gazing...
