Do you guys obey the traffic rules in this game?
Or do you go 150km/h through a school zone like me?

Depends on the contract.

I stick to them with some flex. So I will not "go 150 through a school zone" but 84 instead of on the German Autobahn, etc. Also I really have an issue with those red octagons at junctions :steamhappy:

I follow all the traffic rules and have fines turned on. A big part of my enjoyment of the game comes from immersion, so I have the in-game seat position as far forward as possible for a more realistic perspective, I drive exactly as I would in real life, I never cancel or fail a job, I follow all diversions, etc. I even listen to the same podcasts as when I'm driving in real life for my day job.

All of these things contribute to me getting the most out of the game that I can, but I fully respect (from afar) how ever anyone wants to play as long as it doesn't interfere with me :)

I teleport only in areas I have been too multiple times. But when I move to a new town, city or country. I obey the laws

always, or it would not be a simulator

I'm the same. I stick to the speed limits (with a 4mph allowance for a dodgy speedo :)). I try and not cause accidents with the crazy AI, take my rest breaks, repair/service my truck at appropriate intervals, and I always deliver to the customer; sometimes late, but better late than never.

I listen to LBC while I'm driving in ETS2 (C&W music stations when i'm in the states).

I do have a rather large pot of virtual cash which I use to buy and configure whatever trucks I want, and to make use of the quick travel functionality.

Other than my international teleporting, I like to keep things as immersive as possible; no dead end barriers, no bright green icons, real companies, gas stations, and liveried AI trucks.

I have built up a decent rig with wheel, pedals, gearshift, range/splitter, button box, parking brake, head tracking, remote info centre etc. Having gone to the bother of putting that lot together, I want my driving experience to be as real as possible.

I follow the same pattern...it really helps with immersion...and it's fun.:steamhappy:

Yes. To me it's litterally the gameplay, if I did'nt it would just be a poor racing game with trucks.
Underscore_101_3 Feb 16, 2023 @ 9:21am
I stick to the rules when on a job, but when I need to travel far to pick up a job (when not using an owned trailer) I ignore most of the rules (sometimes)

I stick to the rules, given that there is not much to do in the game other than deliver stuff and enjoy the trucks. It's basically one of the points of this game and what makes it fun and immersive. I mean, why rush? You have nothing to lose, and little to win. You're not competing with anyone, or going for a record or whatever.

If I want to speed, I play Forza, BeamNG or Assetto Corsa, or whatever other racing sim

I obey rules expect when there is a roadblock because of accident or something, I always get just past the Police, firetrucks or whatever. Never did take the long route.

If I make wrong turn on highway and detour would be very long, I might back up a bit or try to figure out something dodgy.

Sometimes the voice gps has wrong instructions and if you don't have gps, it can lead to problems. Like there are some 3 way splits where gps says to take right lane, when actually it's the middle lane. Also it doesn't always count those xxx closed roads and sometimes does. So in few places you might turn according instructions and face wall of x's.

the AI doesn't follow the rules, neither do I.

Everybody should enjoy the game the way they want to.
I just like seeing how fast I can deliver someone with minimal damage, with the crazy AI it can sometimes cause crazy situations which I enjoy.
