Random exiting to desktop

I have seen several post with something similar to this. Sometimes when I am playing after 30-40 minutes or so will go by. Then suddenly the screen goes blank, then opens up onto desktop. The game hasn't crashed as if I click on the icon the game is still running... normally with my truck on it side as it has flipped over in those few seconds of no input.

So I have verified my game file now 4 times. I systematically went through Device Manager and individually selected each and every item and there sub categories and made sure everything has the latest and best driver. Made sure my GPU has the latest updates via Geforce Experience and that W10 is also updated.

My system specs are as follows;
MB - Asus Prime B450-Plus
CPU - Ryzen 7 3700x - Runs at 7-8%
GPU - Gigabyte Aorus RTX 3080Ti - Runs at 35% and 41'c on 4k ultra
RAM - 32GB Corsair Vengeance 3000mhz
M.2 SSD on MB - Samsung 980 Evo 1TB
PSU - Corsair RX1000M

I am 50% sure it is something to do with the fact you have to ALT-TAB out of the game. rather than just pressing the Windows Button, and it is getting a false reading from somewhere to close game window.

As for now I have no clue what is causing it, and wondered if anybody else is experiencing this issue or have an idea what it is. Just wish it wouldn't do it as I am on intersections

An external program stealing window focus and forcing Windows to go to the desktop is a big possibility. Use the Task Manager to see what is running as the same time as the game, anything to do with messages, Discord, virus alerts etc can be a problem.
Shutting down ANY other programs, so Steam and the game are the only programs active is a help.
Do not use the Windows button. Alt-Tab is best done when on the pause screen, not while driving, I do not have any problem with ETS2/ATS doing that.

Hum now I think about it I did notice my antivirus start its daily checkup on the other monitor at the same time. Will disable its auto-run at set time and see if that helps. Thanks for that @Mojo_musica

My Epson printer software checks for software/firmware updates every week, a new window opens with the result of the search, also with the same result... hopefully one day Epson will change this and use the notification center.
