Will the UK ever get a rework?

You guys have done great work sprucing up so many of the games regions, so that begs the question, when is the UK getting the same treatment? Its been the same since the game's launch and is honestly so bare-bones compared to the newer stuff being made.

It will be done but it's going to be a while before that happens.
West Balkins is next up and don't know what's after that.

Balkans has nothing to do with it. Rework team is an independent one from DLC development. However, it seems Switzerland is next. Then we still have Czechia, Benelux and UK left from the original map.

UK is the oldest part of the map (pre-dating this actual game I believe), so it's well overdue.
Many reasons why SCS have left it so late, but while you wait, Promods is an option. It's much better, includes more portions of Scotland and Wales, more complex road system around London. Northern Ireland, Isle of Man and Orkney has been added too. Plus you get more countries like Republic of Ireland, Iceland, Faroe Islands.
Having said that, the longer it takes SCS to remake the UK, the higher my expectations become. If it's better than what Promods have done (and it should be), then it'll be worth the wait.

I feel your pain, believe me. I only go on my vanilla profile while waiting for a Promods update. When I do use vanilla, I avoid UK at all costs, which sucks because my HQ is in Swansea. I spend the time discovering new roads.

I switch to playing ATS when I'm waiting for a Promods update. I can't play ETS without Promods. That said, once we have West Balkans, Northern Scandinavia (which is looking like being the next DLC) and a UK / Ireland rework, I'll be happy not to bother with the hassle of downloading and installing Promods every time SCS release an update.

If you ever do a UK rework would you consider adding canals and aqueducts. Then add the mighty narrowboat "Aslan" moored just off a highway bridge {M6 perhaps) or crossing an aqueduct with Kevin Shelley at the helm. Thanks!

Better take that suggestion to the official SCS forum. The devs usually collect input for their map additions and reworks from there, and don't frequent the Steam board as much.

A rework will be done but it is simply going to be the last country of the base map area (that is fully included in the base map) to get a rework.
So after Switzerland and the BeNeLux.

I don't doubt that Great Britain will be reworked at some time in the future. Nevertheless, suggestions on what to include in the rework should be posted in the official SCS forum, as it is way more likely to be noticed by the developers. Here it is prone to be overlooked as the thread descends into the oblivion of page 3+

Why will the UK be Last ?

1. it's not a transit country (at least no unless we get Ireland, which won't happen before this rework, maybe with it), so less players will benefit from that rework.
2. it has a different scale than the rest due to the legacy of Germany, Austria and UK being taken from 3 different standalone games and just the gaps filled in, ready was the base map. Does not really matter due to the location on an island. The longer they take the more they can internally think about how to deal with this status quo.

@Mirko - from what I seen on the web, German Truck Simulator had Austria as an expansion. There is something on the wiki page.
