Logitek G29 Shifter
Hi folks
Anyone using the G29 shifter. When using Range shifting, which button do you find most convenient for switching between the low and high ranges? A keyboard button? Or one on the wheel? And if so, which do you use.
Thanks all

I use R3 on the g29. Seems to work for me atleast (using shifter with left hand)

That's a good choice. I always fumble with the face buttons, but better those than a keyboard option perhaps. Less taking my eyes off the road. :)

Thank's Goose. Unavailable here sadly, but it's a thing I didn't even know existed. So if I struggle with the vanilla option, I might see if I can find something like this.

On my G29, I used to use the Share and Option buttons, since they're the only ones in the middle of the wheel. I later made my own switch panel using a gift card for a place I didn't like. Drilled 2 holes for switches to go into, and put two nails into the edge of my desk facing my chest.

Since then I've gone the better route and just got a truck shifter adapter for my G29 shifter, with the jake, hi/lo, range switches/buttons on it. Much nicer.

There are cheaper options out there, eBay tends to have a lot of really basic 3d printed ones.

LOL! Thank's Reese. I'll take three!
Thank's for the replies all, sadly it's just become a moot question.

My Logitech Shifter arrived today. I eagerly fitted it and......... it didn't work. It didn't show any signs of being plumbed in at all. It didn't show up on the Logitech Hub. It didn't show up in the controls screen of any of the games I tried and when I double checked by firing up the PS4, it didn't show up there either.

After much unsatisfactory sifting through the net and experimenting, I contacted Logitech support via a text chat on their website and though that chap I spoke to was polite, the advice he had to offer turned out not to be useful and they offered to replace it under warranty.

I said no thanks though and have subsequently arranged a return and refund via Amazon. It could be that I was unlucky and got a faulty one. But my G29 is three years old at this point and for all I know the connection on that (obviously never tested) is the faulty bit.

So there you go. Disappointing but not the end of the world. Anyway.. now I get to choose a new Christmas Present. Huzzah!
