Help with setting up a wheel and pedals
So i have not got a 3rd different brand simple set of wheel and pedals, and it is almost impossible to get this game to work with it. I thought that maybe a 3rd wheel might work (on a 2nd PC) but still zero success.

I have got just far enough that pedals and buttons work, but i cannot get the wheel to work as it should. if it turn it very slightly one way, the wheel just spins in that direction, and if i return it to middle, the wheel stays at that side, not returning to the centre.

Does anyone know what setting i need to change, because i have spent this evening googling it and trying to figure out. It doesn't help the game doesn't have a built in configurator, and instead keeps opening steams one, which i think is extremely un-intuitive, and have never liked.

Any help would be appreciated. And yes, i have done everything else like restart, check drivers are updated etc. Many thanks.

It is just a normal racing wheel from Amazon, one that also works with xbox etc a "SV200"

I may have solved something. for some reason the default controller config for steam has the "left stick" steering axis only set as "steering" for normal driving mode. all the extra modes like automatic, sequential etc. have it set as "joystick". But there is no way to change this in steam controller settings, it just jumps back to "joystick". I also changed something the joystick setting to "linear" instead of circular? that seems to have solved it a bit, but i still don't feel the wheel is returning to the centre as it should.

Sorry if this is useless reply of simple mind, but there are those steering sensitivity and and one other setting for wheel. I have have those in rather weird configuration to get the wheel to work somewhat properly. Also I think the steering degree should be set to right setting. Usually 90 degrees but i think that is the default setting anyways.

I don't know if it helps but I ALWAYS turn off Steam Input for games where I'm using a wheel and rely on the in-game config and that works fine in ETS2 with my (old) MoMo. Steam really does not seem to understand anything but XBox controllers,

Disable steam controller input then use the in-game controller setup wizard, yes there is one.

Thank you, I will give that a try.

Maybe I am expecting too much from the game, as no matter what configuration i pick, the wheel still doesn't work as i think it should behave.

in my opinion, if i turn the wheel 45% of its full motion to one side, the wheel ingame should turn 45% of its and then stop moving. instead it will go all the way to left lock at a medium speed. if i turn the wheel 100% it goes fast, if i turn it 5% it goes very slow.

And then if i move the wheel to the centre, it stays as is, only if i then turn it the other way, will the ingame wheel start turning back to centre.
