2000 km Achievement

I still don't have the achievement...

Am I doing it wrong? Do I need to do it all in one run, without shutting down the game or something?

Was the Land Distance more than 2,000 km? You took a ferry or train from the UK.

It could be the damage penalty. Does it say if you have to have no fines/no damage Or something?

damage isn't a concern for the 2000k, only the 1000k

What matters is the distance on the freight market or quick job screen, not how far you actually drive. Aberdeen to Torino is just under 1600km as far as the game is concerned.

That would be it, then. I didn't go into the game to check that and couldn't tell from the screen shot OP provided.

@OP: You can't just drive around on a longer route to increase the distance. It only considers what the job states when you pick it up.

actually, I think you CAN just drive around and increase the distance. I'm pretty sure when I got mine, I added a couple of slightly out of the way cities to the route to make sure I was over. I DEFINITELY did that for the one where you also have to earn over 130k with over 2200km. Even wales/Scotland/Portsmouth to extreme hungary can be barely 2200 after sea crossing. So I added around 4-500km and bought another couple of garages on the way. lol

Driving extra has never helped the achievements that are based on delivery distance.

well I think that might have been changed in one of the updates. I only started playing in the last couple of months and definitely added extra stops to my job when I got the achievement. As far as I remember, the base distance was just under, and I had a sea crossing too, so I added a chunk to it.

Someone on a new profile (like the OP) could try it - take a job that's 18-1900 that's only on mainland Europe, and add a detour to have it come out at around 2100

FWIW I have tried it with v1.22 - I too only started playing a couple of months ago - and I cannot find a way of getting the achievement with the base game, no map DLC and no mods. This did not involve driving around aimlessly either, just changing the route to use the Chunnel rather than a ferry crossing (longest attempt was LKW in Graz to Stokes in Aberdeen, which is over 2400 kms the way I drove it but only 1568 according to the job board, which takes you via the ferry to Newcastle)

I don't think it is possible with just base game. Even with Going East only you will have hard time to find such job. You will have more luck with both map DLCs. I know, because I got mine from Linköping to somewhere in eastern Europe (I think somewhere in Hungary or Slovakia, not sure now). I don't know if it is possible with base game and Scandinavia only, but I think it may be possible from somewhere in northern Sweden to somwhere in Italy or southeast Austria, but I don't know the exact distances now. Of course you will have even bigger chance with those big map mods like ProMod.

I only have the going east DLC and had no trouble getting all 3 achievements - well, I hadn't got the 130k a couple of times when I thought I should have done, so added in the 4-500km detour to make sure and it popped
