Workshop mods wouldn't download

With any mods I try to subsribe to the game will always get stuck at "Downloading MODS". I tried to wait for about an hour and it'll never download any of them. And it's the same on the main screen and in the mod manager. Will this ever work?

One thing changed after the last patch (1.23.1) when I launched the game I have one mod already downloaded (I was subscribed only to one for testing) without showing any "Downloading MODS" message, it was just there suddenly. But when I try to subscribe to another one it is the same as before.

Have you tried loging out and back in on steam? that's what did the trick for me, it didn't start the download, but all of a sudden they were in my mod manager

I patched the game 2 days ago and I have restarted the steam client and launched the game many times since then. Now I tried to manually log out through the menu and log in again but it didn't change anything. Endless downloading is still there. But thank you anyway, I'll keep trying.

Hi, have tried removing all mods and then download them again?

if you really want to but do it one mod at a time and eliminate the one that is the problem.

I didn't have any mods before ever. And the one I have now just downloaded yesterday with the latest patch, because it was the only one I was subscribed to.

It doesn't matter how many mods at a time or which mods I try. It's always the same - stuck at "Downloading MODS". It definetely isn't issue with the mods itself but with the game/communication with the server. But the game can connect to the internet I'm sure of that, so it also isn't issue with the firewall or anything in that matter.

So again with the latest patch 1.23.1.1s the steam client downloaded my subcribed mods with the patch itself. Finally I've got the mods I wanted. But the original problem still remains. Without solution I will be able to download mods only when a new patch is rolled out.

Interesting. I was just thinking a moment ago that it would be cool if the Workshop "engine" was smart enough to detect which mods were now incompatible with a given game update and halt download of those mods until such time as the author updates them.
I wouldn't be surprised if that's what happens now. I don't use the workshop. Hell, I don't even use mod Manager lol

I don't think that's what happened. Because it downloaded all mods which I was subscribed to. And the mods weren't updated, the game was. The explanation I think is that there are two ways to download subscribed mods - one is by game itself (which isn't working now) and other is by the steam updater which is what worked for me now (but the steam updater is downloading mods only when there is a new patch for the game).
