Horsepower figures in ETS2 (and ATS for that matter) are display only. Torque is the figure you want to change..
Dbl-click the peterbilt .scs file. When it opens, navigate to:
"def\vehicle\truck\peterbilt.389\engine" directory.
Pick the engine you want to change and double-click it (eg. "catc15_840.sii")
Notepad (better still, Notepad+) will open it.
Change the line that reads:
torque: 2979 (or whatever it says)
Change the number to 6000 (or whatever)
Save the file. You'll be asked to "update archive?". Click Ok (or Yes, or whatever it is)
Transmissions
They're a little more tricky. However, the link below will give you a 24speed transmission with 4 reverse gears for the Pete389. Just make sure it has a higher Mod MAnager priority than the truck itself. There's no manifest or anything included, but ETS2 will make one when you load the game. Transmission icon is generic and the gearbox should show up at the top of the list.
24 Speed AccuShift[mega.nz]
Let me know if it doesn't work.
Tell me which engine you want to modify and I'll add it to the original ♥♥♥♥♥♥ mod.
The engine i would like to modify is the isxsig_750.
Thanks for the help.
Delete the previous .scs file before you download this one to replace it.
24Speed Transmission and 6000hp Cummins[mega.nz]
Make sure it has a higher priority than the 389 mod itself.
Specifically made for ETS2, but may also work in ATS as is.
I edited the hp and kw values just for show.
Incidentally, that 24sp 'box has 3 'overdrive' gears (22, 23, 24) and there's not much RPM difference between them.
