Adding maps just makes it take longer to get.
i do think several standalone maps exist.
better look at scs site.
I was gonna just make a small map for you, but turns out making a standalone map is more difficult than just changing the time scale(which I've done with the editor before. I could not prevent the standalone map from crashing, so unfortunately can't help you there.
I recall trying it with Project Japan some time ago and with the now discontinued Tregion map, one of those two worked for me.
If you look on the scs forum and/or trucky mods, there is one called "FSG" (France Swiss Germany) standalone large scale map, and there are a few others based in Germany maps, can't recall their names atm.
I guess now you can simply drive freely all around as money should be not a problem for your profile anymore. Turn offences off, fatigue off, quick travel as much as you need and don't worry about accidents. If willing, a truck with a taglift chassis can turn on a dime ; )
Thank you all for replies, I might check out Grand Utopia or some other maps, or maybe i could just disable traffic and use devcam and teleport on top of all that kaki_gamet recommended. I mean I'm not really happy to do it that way, but you either take "shortcuts" or lose your mind doing it legit...
If you don't mind it, you can make your own map only for it. Start the game with the parameter "-edit" (without quotes), place a stretch of road under the starting point, and run the map. When you reach the gameplay screen, and start driving your truck, it should mark 100% of road discovery, thus unlocking the achievement.
I'm stealing this topic only for a small off-topic: this is one of the few map mods I'm interested on play. I prefer those standalone and fictional maps than those mods that change the existing map.
SAM is something I'm strongly against. What would even be the point of achievements if you unlocked them all with a couple of clicks? And I guess just using it for this one particular achievement would be *a bit* different, but still.. I'm not willing to do that.
At least discovering a custom map would be legit, because the achievement description basically doesn't specify which map I should discover, the base game one or a custom one. And I would consider using commands legit too, since I still need to look at the map, see what I'm missing and - for the most part - drive on that stretch of road.
When I unlocked this achievement, all intersections were single-pieced, so all ramps got marked by simply touching it. Now I simply wanna enjoy the ride, not caring about the road discovery percentage.
There's no point in getting hard achievement in easy/cheaty way. Getting a small map mod is almost the same as using SAM or any other cheat engine
There are enough "challenging but doable" achievements to worry about - like those that specifies the cargo, the company, the direction and the city. And this specific one lost its purpose, at least if they keep its 100% discovery threshold.
