They don't mention mods, which made me think that it will be the same as with regular convoy at present.
I am sure more feedback will come when people start setting this up for themselves. For me I just do single player, but I know that lots of players also like Convoy.
Well, technically, it was hosted by a Player, and the session would end when that hosting Player logged out or quit. Instead of SCS hosting their OWN dedicated 24/7 servers, they shifted the burden to "anyone" willing to foot the cost of a dedicated server .. Some of which are pay-to-use or "leased space".
You seem to be taking my factual statements as some kind of complaint, or attack against SCS .. I made no statement saying that I had an opinion as to "agree or disagree" or "right or wrong". I simply answered someone's question as to "Rules/Settings" of a session, and qualified it with factual information as to the relationship with Server use/ownership.
Where I was going with this statement, was that I can see someone trying to charge a Subscription to their Server, to play a game they do not own .. By shifting the burden of the Server to an end-user/3rd party, SCS has allowed a 3rd party to make money from their product, without paying a royalty, and thus, losing income they could have made, if they hosted themselves.
