I agree on that, the more people that can play it the better but as I said I think that as it's fairly niche on PC on console it would be even more so, can't see it selling more than a few thousand on PS4 and XB1 combined.I would prefer to see that effort of bringing the game to console be spent on improving or expanding what we have.
You would be incorrect, sir and/or madam!
Bethesda is doing some work to get mods on consoles in Fallout 4 (at least, when PS4 is finally getting them...)
Plenty of games that are PC only have outsold Console ports over the years, PC offers a lot more to a game and a SMALL game developer like SCS than a larger company like RockStar.
No, until Consoles are mod compatible, allow you to use Steering wheels as standard and offer you BETTER graphical quality than any PC system, i personally would want these sorts of sims to stay PC only. Its like asking Microsoft to develop Flight Sim for console or for the creators of XPlanes to make a Console version of the game. It would never work.
Simulators SHOULD always be PC only, other genres should be interchangable between console and PC, Theres more Sim demand for PC users than consoles, thats a simple fact.
actually from what i heard on a Livestream the otherday, Bethesda are putting mod support on the backburner because sony wants a percentage of the profits if mods are allowed on their console.
Also, consoles have been around for years, yet its only now that 1 developer out of the dozens out there is making the move to add mod support on a console version of a game, if they are sucessful, mod support for games might be a full blown thing in a few years, perhaps when the next gen comes around, but till then, PC will hold the title for moddable games like ETS2 and ATS, by that time, SCS would have moved on from ETS2 so it wouldnt even matter by then.
Two questions:
1) Was this is an official Bethesda Livestream, or a livestream from a guy who "heard it from a friend, from a mate, who's a cousin to a girl whose cat comes from the same litter as a developer from Bethesda"?
2) If the stream WAS official, kindly put a link out (ideally with a timestamp).
Second, if i could i wold, but i dont save every single stream i watch and timecode every single URL just to prove it to people.
Third, the downfall of gaming really is when Mods are brought to consoles because developers will get sloppy knowing modders will pick up the slack all the time which ruins the games, not to mention that consoles are still so many leagues behind PC in terms of playerbase andlegit playability, nothing can beat a good mouse and keyboard gameplay, hell take Battlefield, good on Console, amazing on PC because of the level of skill people have and the edge you can have with better equipment.
I used to be console lover till i started getting into PC gaming a lot more, now i prefer PC over any console all day everyday.
Which YouTuber?
If I know who it is, I can start digging around.
Thanks.
