Mirrors on truck blurry jaggy low resolution fix

Changing the
uset r_mirror_scale_y "4.0"
and
uset r_mirror_scale_x "4.0"

settings to higher values only seem to affect the HUD mirrors, not the mirrors on the truck.

Any way to improve resolution of the on truck mirrors?

Have you already checked Options > Graphics (advanced) > Mirror quality, Mirror resolution and Mirror distance? From your screenshots looks like you are playing it in VR, if so maybe you need a more experienced user with it to answer your question : /

Unfortunately, the settings the OP is changing are what those graphics options set. I think the max value the game sets is 2.0.

I tried changing those values, all of the mirror related ones, higher before, but never checked the on-screen mirrors. It's unfortunate but looks like the in-cab mirrors are hard-limited.

Thanks for your contribute Reese. Came to my mind that long time ago SCS introduced something for a different render of curved mirrors, unfortunately I'm finding nothing at all now. I remember I went to try it and found the new version sort of distorted, or it was just me that got too much used to the original one, so I reverted settings and forgot of it ^^'

Any memory of it? Maybe that setting is active on OP side? More than touching config I would start with in-game settings anyway, all three listed above and see if it can improve.

To my eyes, the mirrors in ATS are better and higher res. Wonder why we can't get that in ETS2.
