It takes them like a year just to get an add-on map DLC out, I don't even want to think about how long it would take them to make a whole brand new "ETS"! :( Though it would definitely be awesome if they did--the graphics engine in the current version really needs an overhaul and updating to a more modern looking engine at this point.

I am pretty sure there will be ETS3 one day. Even ETS2 couldn't be updated forever. But I wouldn't expect it within the next decade ;-) To tell you truth, I think we'll see The Sims 8 well before ETS3 release date LOL

the thing that people forget is that, depending on what SCS has in mind, we could see ETS2 being the stop point for Europe, theyll probably finish ATS and move onto a different, unexplored continent to bring more variety to the franchise.

BTW, did you know that its very likely we will not see any more Sims games after 3 is done with?

SCS build ETS2 4 -5 years more.

Surely you mean 4? S3 has been finished for quite some time and EA have basically said they will not be updating it further and focusing on S4.....

Doubt we'll see a new ETS version any time soon.
Afaik there have been talk about moving to DX11 for ETS2 and ATS. This will probably improve performance and the visual aspects of the games.

ETS3 no practical need for that long term just hire full time mapper rebuild and tweak the map to give variety and challenges. Move over dx11 like others said make other features more realistic. Rebuild UK and Germany and update textures and model assests. Some are too young to remember the old days of ETS 1 and 18 cities or UKTS and German Truck Simulator merged to create ETS2
