FacetrackNoIR and PS3 Eye camera

Hey folks,

I just snagged a Playstation eye camera for head tracking in ETS2. Apparently it's a really good one to use as it's cheap and captures video at 120fps. However, it needs a special driver to run in Windows and apparently there was a free driver at one time but now the developer has started charging for it. It's only another $2 for the driver so that's no big deal unless there's another free option that someone knows about.

Also I've read something about the camera needs to be modified for it to work. But I've also watched tutorial videos that mentioned nothing of the sort. Anyone else here using this camera with FacetrackNoIR care to share their experiences?

Hi AlphaDiode, I recently got a PS2 eyetoy camera for facetrackNoIR, and it works without any modification at all. here is the driver I used: http://www.filedropper.com/processing/filedownload.php?id=eyetoy64archive

The guy who wrote the driver made a youtube guide to installing it, http://youtu.be/D9uDASEH0yQ

I chose the PS2 version because the freetrack forums said it was easier to modify for IR tracking than the PS3 camera, but I haven't made a point tracker yet so I'm using FacetrackNoIR instead.

I should say it works in all my games, EXCEPT ETS2, which I was looking for help with - and how I came by your forum thread. Hope this helps

I got my camera yesterday actually and got the face tracking working. It works pretty good but is going to take some getting used to. I didn't have to modify the camera at all. Hope you get yours working with ETS2.
