I think it should work with the PS4 controller too (in fact, I think the setup app is geared towards it). I've been an Xbox controller fanboy, but something about the PS3 analog sticks felt a lot better, plus it's wireless vs my wired Xbox controller.
Also, Genesis FTW! Why doesn't anybody use 6 face buttons anymore?! :)
Um... I guess to make this back on-topic... from a lot of the comments, a lot of people have neat setups, but ETS2 doesn't really require a lot, aside from a good gaming rig. The driving isn't super intense, so some people even play with mouse and keyboard.
You need to download a small program called DS4tool
Do a google search and you will find it. When you run the tool it will map the PS4 controller to trick the computer into thinking it is a 360 controller.
In reply to Ragequit Inc. the space I do have is fairly limited and I realize a wheel doesn't take up much space, guess the cost and the fact that this is the only driving sim I play on PC is kind of a factor. What wheel do some of you guys recommend? Oh and my Wife still kinda likes me yet-don't wanna push it
TX for the info on DS4Tool, will check that out also :)
Depending on your budget, either the DFGT (~130usd) or the G27 (~250usd). Probably the most used all-around wheels with good (so i've heard) support/warranties etc. Wouldn't recommend getting anything cheaper. Will be a waste of money in the long run. And who knows, maybe you'll get into other driving sims with it, like Assetto Corsa? ;)
GRID
I use to do that but not much anymore, while the light bars do add extra lighting at night it makes it so bright it washes out the textures on anything they hit within close range, so I just stick to the stock truck high beams.
Yes, I have AC. 900 hours clocked on it. But if you're not into sim-racing, I'm inclined not to recommend it, but if that's something you might be interested in, AC is definately a great buy. I think it's even on sale right now. If you're more into arcade-style, I imagine the new GRID might suit you. Can't say about it's wheel support/functionality though.
