Promods Download [Figured it Out]
I've gone to promods.net and I'm doing the download section by section. I get to zippyshare and Windows Smartscreen blocks the download. Is this normal, or is it unsafe to download?

It is probably a false/positive, but it is safe to download. Are you trying to download it in sections for free or are you paying for the faster download?

Doing it in the sections, I bypassed Smart Screen by going into download manager and saying "go ahead and download".

I have always paid the small fee for the faster download, but it is safe so just allow it to download.

Alrighty, thank you for the information and your time. To be honest, I have math homework to do so letting Promods download in the background part by part ain't to bad.

The warning is generated by the ads that ZippyShare is inserting onto the download pages.

Ok, thanks Ryu, also does ADFly normally have malicious ads and / or popups?

never had an issue but they have to generate a bit of income somehow.

That's what I figured, thanks.

Sometimes, yes. One or two versions ago when I was downloading Promods the AdFly page was throwing the (hard-to-terminate) "your computer is infected, call this toll-free number NOW" pop-up which is nothing more than a ploy to get you to call and allow someone access to your machine. But if you can mute it, it doesn't interfere with the download and you can take care of killing that page when your done. :steammocking:

That's what I had figured. Seems interesting they allow those type ads no?

I don't know that they have much control of the ads that are being fed to them. The more respectable ad farms will weed out stuff like that, but it takes the people who are using their links complaining to them first. Which means ZippyShare has to get enough complaints from users to feel compelled to complain to AdFly.

Ah, makes enough sense.
