How do I edit a .scs file?

Hey guys, I've just downloaded a Volvo truck mod and I can buy it just at level 15, is there any way to edit the mod and put a lower level?

I do not know how to change the level but to open the .scs file, you will need an archiver. One such as WinRar or 7Zip. I personally prefer using 7zip as it is free. Someone who knows more about creating mods will have to tell you how to change the level.

1. you don't edit a SCS file, you create a mod with the same infos that will overwrite that SCS file when it's loaded.
2. you don't open SCS file with an archive, you use an extractor from SCS.

Just open the mod with 7zip or any similar archiever you have. Look through the truck accessories folder (def/vehicle/truck/TRUCKNAME/accessories) and find out which accessories are level 15. Edit those to be level 1 or 0.

I guess you missed the bit where the OP said it was a volvo mod. ;)

Only if it is a base file of the game itself...mods can be opened (if not locked) with most zip utilities...as those are most of the time only renamed zip files...
