Map extension DLC suggestion: Island pack: Ireland, Iceland, Faroe, Cyprus, Crete, Malta, Åland, Gotland, Macaronesia
Currently ETS2 have a few large islands, The British Island, Sicily, Sardinia, Corsica.
But there are many more islands that are big enough and would be interesting to drive on. Examples include Ireland, Iceland, Faroe, Cyprus, Crete, Malta, Åland, Gotland, Macaronesia (Aka Azores, Canary, etc.). These islands put together involve multiple countries, and probably worth a DLC pack.

And a long ferry ride either : )

The Faroe Islands have an area of 1,399 km² which in the 1:19 scale makes about 73.6 km². For comparison: Luxembourg has an area of 2,586.4 km² so roughly twice the sice of the Faroe Islands. And it is already tiny.
And for Macaronesia: I highly doubt that you will have any truck transport on a ship to these islands. It is much easier to transport stuff via containers to these islands and have the stuff delivered by box trucks as they are really tiny.

ProMods Europe has many of these islands. Usually only one city/road for the whole island due to the scale.

One catch though, you have to own all SCS map DLC to get ProMods to work.

Google search return images of them existing on the island.

As for the scale issue, isn't Faroe Island already included in some third party game mods which use same scale?
Google Maps indicate driving from one end of the Faroe islands to the other end took about two hour, aka a bit longer in time than real world Cologne to Dortmund, and there are also many roads that branch out to various peninsula on the islands. So there should be room for truckers to drive on the island even at ETS's reduced scale. The content wouldn't be a lot if it is only this island, but when combined with all the different islands being mentioned then there should be enough content to make an extension pack.

Not to mention according to my understanding there already exists third party mod that cover Faroe islands.

Okay, so heavy trucks are on these islands but they are not on the ship which is how we transport our goods when we use the ferry in the game.

As for the scale: The 2 hours drive time are also scaled down by 1:19 in the game like the map. How long do you take to drive from Cologne to Dortmund in the game? Not that long, a few minutes (maybe 10 at maximum).

Just did a drive and it's a bit longer mainly due to things like signals and junctions in city do not scale accordingly. With there aren't any highway in places like Faroe Islands, there are going to be obstacles all along the route even if it is relatively short. There won't be traffic lights but there will be animals from what I gathered.

The basemap scale would not really matter on an Island which is not directly connected by a road in the game as they could make those maps bigger if needed.

I rather see some of the city states - micro nations be added to ets2 since some of them have roads that go towards them like Monaco, Andorra or Liechtenstein (please Liechtenstein it's on the map). Still Iceland I highly doubt will be added because it's so far away from anything else (but there is a ferry according to google maps from Denmark, Cyprus has been in a less hot North - South Korea situation for a long time so it's not the best idea to add it. Malta is probably too small, Balearic Islands might be possible but might be too small like what Wolfgang said, Gotland yes I do agree it should be added along with Öland island. The Åland Islands may work but I think only for the largest island. The Faroe Islands like what Wolfgang said is probably to small to work. I would like to add Saaremaa and Hiiumaa to the board.

Short version
Iceland no due to ferry distance, Cyprus no due to politics, Malta no due to size, Balearic Islands maybe but a bit small, Gotland and Öland yes, Åland Islands maybe but only the largest, Faroe probably not due to size and ferry.

Additions I think would be cool: Saaremaa, Hiiumaa, Liechtenstein, Monaco and Andorra.

Final note. I've thought about adding San Marino since on the map of ETS2 there is nothing there but San Marino might not allow semi trucks just straight trucks.

Edit: I'm quite sure once SCS gets to the UK rework Ireland will be added.

I doubt they would ever do Ireland because of the north south thing and they feel that might be political so it a no go zone.

If they are doing Serbia with Kosovo then Ireland wouldn't be a problem
