How many garages do you need to buy in order to unlock the quick garage buy option

the online garage quick buy option is grey for me and it says that i need to unlock more garages to access it, ive bought 3 garages so far but it is still unavailable for me. anyone know how many garages i need to buy?

For ETS2 you need to buy five garages before you can buy online (according to the economy_data file anyway). The confusion arises perhaps because it is only three for ATS?

I got the Garage Buy unlocked after buying 2 garages by visiting them.

You only need to buy two extra garages to unlock buying them from the garage Purchase button.

I remember I had to buy five garages. That took a few hauls.

Since it is six years since I owned few enough garages to not be able to buy online then I bow to more recent knowledge and now that I look at economy_data again the parameter name suggests that it only pertains to truck purchases not garages.

Hmm, Slightly off-topic now but I was able to buy even the first truck on-line. I purchased ETS2 half a year ago (1.42 I think) and recreated all my profiles when 1.43 was released in December.

When creating a new profile you select a "favorite brand" and immediately one truck dealer for that brand gets unlocked ("discovered"). Probably the one closest to the initial home garage. I was not required to visit the dealer even for the first truck.

The second, third, .. truck is also available online. Just click on a "discovered" truck dealer on the map and start shopping. :-)

Obviously this has been changed at some time along the versions. Maybe to make it easier for newbies and casual players?

Interesting. I've just checked in ATS (where I only own a single truck) and every truck brand, including the specific brand and garage from which I have an email because I chose that brand during set up, shows me a dialog saying 'This feature is for trusted customers only. You need to own at least 3 trucks before you can buy online.' and does not let me buy that way. Checking a test profile that I have for ETS2 I see the same dialog only with '5 trucks' as expected. Perhaps a bug was introduced and then fixed?

Right now I remember -- playing ATS after ETS2 -- the moment in ATS of "oh I can already by trucks online? Niicee!"

This must it have been, then. :)
