ETS2 will ever be free?
The 10th anniversary is almost here, and ETS2 been on sale many times almost for free, and this game has been so succesfull, that it could be free on Steam (like CS:GO and Rocket Leauge on Epic). Do you think that will happen ever?

Clear answer: NO.

SCS is not a AAA company who can afford that. And the game also doesn't have any other income ways like the games you mentioned have. And giving away something for free while having expenses and no income flow is a sure way to go bankrupt.

I mean there are many DLC's in the game and there is also the other game ATS, and it's DLC's and many of their previous games. I know it's not much, but there is some income for them. ;)

Which is not at all enough to cover the costs alone. Again, a AAA company might be able to do this but not a small company like SCS.

No
They might do a sale, nothing more than that I would assume
Maybe a 10th anniversary paint job for veterans or something idk

Edit: Besides, why wouldn't you want to pay for the game?

Okey i got it. It just could be so awesome that how many more players could play the game.

Making it free would do what to that exactly compared to when it goes on sale? Honestly if you don't have enough money to buy the game on sale then you very likely also don't have the hardware to run it.
When it's on sale it's already cheap as ...., less than 5 euro if you live in a Euro country.

It could be free but with monthly paid premium account, which unblocks premium trucks/cargo/etc.

Which you already get for free with a one time charge that you pay when you buy the game.
Not everything needs to be a subscription. Even less games for which the content of said subscription is something you get for free when you bought the base game.
Imagine SCS doing this. They will lose so much of their playerbase that it will be less worth it than the current model. Not to mention that there is nothing that will save the game from negative reviews.
So in sum: If you want to quickly lose a ton of players and burn your company to the ground then this is a great idea. But if that is not what you want then it is a really bad idea.
lol, if i had to start paying a monthly premium after what i've spent on this game already it's GOODBYE SCS :-)
Why in the world would you want that, "monthly paid premium" for a game that's mostly played offline in single player?

This is already a plague for (most) recent games, if you want people to stop playing (like me), this is the way to go.

I hope you're not talking about me, because i have the game and the hardware too, i just said that more people could play the game if it would be free.

When it is on sale it is literally 75% off. Again, if people still can not afford this then they also very likely don't have the hardware to run it. It would do nothing for the game. It would just be a loss for SCS and a lot of people would be coming here complaining that the game runs like crap/crashes which, oh surprise, is caused by the crappy hardware they think is even somewhat capable of running a game at all while being outdated since nearly a decade and/or never made for gaming in the first place.
Making a paid game free is one of the worst ideas possible which will just annoy existing players that bought the game and they will be even more annoyed if other stuff, which was free before, is now paywalled because you need to make the lost money back in some other way.
