What is "Fast Travel"?

Maybe a stupid question but I can't find "Fast Travel" anywhere in my ETS2 (English localization). Fast Travel is often referred to in these forums when moving between garages. I do find two other named ways to jump around the map.

• Quick Travel from the main screen (4th icon in the bottom row). As I understand this you can quickly travel to the Repair Shop (not garage) in already discovered cities. The in-game cost is small, comparable to fuel and service if you drive there yourself.
  
• Relocate from the Driver Manager where you relocate yourself (and hired drivers) to another garage you own. That garage will be your new Headquarter. No cost neither money or time. The same relocation mechanic in Truck/Trailer Manager.

There is also a goto command in the developer console, used together with Ctrl-F9, but that is an advanced feature not visible in the GUI.

Quick Travel

There is a "Quick Travel" from Garage menu either, works "exactly" as the one on main menu but target the selected garage. Quick Travel to a workshop is not always possible, if your truck is damaged you need to use F7 instead, but the one to garage still works.

And yes, fast travel is quick travel (or in a broader meaning it includes all possible ways) ^^'

Thanks! 1500+ hours of play and I haven't noticed that "Travel" button in the Garage Manager until now! A third way in the GUI of travelling fast across the map.

What I don't get is why Quick Travel does not accumulate time. You arrive at the same time you leave. Beam me up Scotty?

It used to move time according to the distance being traveled. Then came Convoy Mode and an issue with the clock jumping because one (or more) player(s) in the session would move around. So, time moving was removed from Quick Travel.
