Force feedback: differences with ATS
Hi everybody,

may I ask you if you find any difference between ETS2 and ATS force feedback and general driving "sensation"?

Because ever since I've got ATS, i found it to be a noticeably better "driving experience" than ETS2. The force feedback is more realistic, everything feels much consistent and solid than with the european version. I don't know if it depends on the different kind of trucks that we have in Europe, so that the game physics are made to match them (over engine cabs, smaller dimensions and weight...) or it's something in the game "code".

I've tried changing all my options in ETS (and the logitech drivers) to reach the feeling that i've got from ATS but it's impossible. They drive differently.

Is it just me or have you found the same problem/difference?

BTW I use an old Logitech Driving Force GT wheel and pedals setup.

There is a slight difference. I have different settings for ETS and ATS. I use the LGHUB settings rather than the in game controls. But yes, there is a difference.

Hm to be serious I didnt find any difference..wether between ATS and ETS2 nor between 1.43 and 1.44..it still makes fun to use but its really unrealistic in a few situations

Interesting...for me it's totally different so I'm tryin to figure out why...

Thanks guys

Have you tried copying the controls file from an ATS profile that you like to ETS2?

There is indeed a difference. ATS is a newer game and the engine has more "power". Also American trucks are heavier than European ones and this is why you have vastly different feel out of it. The game behaves differently on either Logitech, Thrustmaster, FANATEC or DD wheels (so far I had the pleasure to play on a G920 (inferior) and a TS-PC 488 FE (superior)).

No reason to think there is any difference than that, steering geometry, wheelbase, weight...those might actually have an effect on the wheel feel. The FFB in both sets of software would be identical.

There are differences, higher grade wheels have more options and better FFB. That is normal. BUT the FFB in each game is different, yet the settings are somewhat identical. You need less force in ATS than in ETS2. Just saying...

The games both run the exact same engine. You can even copy and paste config files between the games, and they will work automatically. The difference in feeling is most likely due to exactly what Sandhill said. Truck weight, length, and overall steering setup for the trucks. The difference you feel between games, is probably the difference you would feel between the trucks IRL (or close). American trucks are different, so they would drive differently as well.

Exactly. Sadly I could not get my tumb around explaining it... properly the 1st time. :steamfacepalm:
