Which truck to choose in Euro Truck Simulator 2?
Hi. I have a problem. I want to buy a new truck but I don't know what to choose. I am currently driving a Volvo FH Classic and have done 100,000km/mile on it. I am mainly interested in MAN, Volvo, Scania. I do not know what to choose. Maybe you can advise something?

Buy them all and drive whichever pleases you in the moment. ;)

Try both, but for me my no.1 is Scania

Buy anyone you fancy, and when you have enough cash to by another, give your current one to another driver. That's how i played all the way through till i had so much cash i could keep all my favourites in one big garage, and i swap between them as i please for a bit of variety.

MAN, Mercedes, Volvo and Scania can all be configured to be suitable for all types of freight, including the heaviest freight types.

Try different models of them in quickjobs to get an idea of what you think about their driving characteristics, views of the sides when you go out from side roads, mirrors, dashboard and sound.

I personally prefer Volvo FH16 (New gen)

You can't really go wrong with any truck in game. All have pros/cons, and like mentioned treat quick jobs like a test drive.
When on the quick jobs map, at the top right there is an option to select which brand of truck you might want to use.

Depending on your finances, you could also just buy an upgraded garage and purchase one of every brand. This is what I did (well except an Iveco and Renault. The ones I bought for myself I dumped onto my drivers...although the Renault T is a good truck, and I actually do like the Iveco Hi-Way model, just the speedometer isn't the clearest and it lacks a digital one).

-MAN TGX Euro 6 I find quite fun to drive. Just a bit boring since I like customizing the inside and it's a bit lacking right now.
-Scania Streamline...my previous main was an S model but I think I now prefer the Streamline.
-The "newer" Volvo, solid truck, fully upgrade is one of if not the best in game. I prefer not maxing out my Volvo's or Scania's anymore though.

Don't overlook other brands.
-The New Actros is a solid truck. This is my current main.
-The 2021 DAF, might not be all that powerful but I find it an exceptionally fun truck to drive.
-Last truck I bought was the DAF XF 105. Might actually be one of my favourites just because of how you can make it look.

Renaults are also too weak for the heaviest loads.

A Reanult cannot handle the special transport from Stavanger without the driver being close to falling asleep when the load has been handed over, and will therefore not be able to reach the nearest rest area after the job has been completed.

I said "almost everything"... Well, for normal cargos you can use anything. For Heavy Cargo DLC and Special Transport DLC i recommend some Scania or Volvo

Agree although also MAN and Mercedes can also be configured to be excellent for the heaviest loads. :)

You must drive a Scania, It is the law in ETS. Anyone found not driving a Scania will be fined, put in prison and flogged. Please do not let this happen to you. Don't get a criminal record, drive a Scania today, and always. If you are addicted to any other brand of vehicle, you can get help here; Non Scania truck addiction helpline. 09879 332332

Just want to put it out there that the DAF XF and DAF XG+ are really underrated by the ETS2 community, they're great for hauling regular sized trailers.
The DAF XF has short 6x4 axels and looks great. The XG+ is a very silent and pleasant chillaxing drive. Another underrated truck is the Renault T imo.

If you dare to step outside the volvo/scania comfortzone.

So based on the comments all trucks.

The way I I did it in ATS is earn enough to have all different trucks and trailers. I have about 10 trucks without drivers which are mine to use.

I am looking to do something similar in ETS. I was just able to sell my first truck and have enough money to buy a high end Volvo.

I have tested a Renault T on the special job Stavanger-> Oslo in its most optimal configuration for heavy loads.
It did not handle it very well as the bed was red when I handed over the load.

Moreover, the Renault T is in my opinion the ugliest truck in the game. :steammocking:
But taste and pleasure are different. :)
