ALT+TAB causes very high CPU temperature
So I started playing ETS2, but when i alt+tabbed it increased my GPU usage to 100% and CPU temperature a lot. I do not know why. I am using a gaming laptop, 1660 ti GPU and intel i7 9th gen CPU, my CPU is usually 70-80 but when i alt tabbed it reached 90 easily.
I have tried decreasing maximum background application FPS in nvidia control panel. It did decrease but only a little, however, I still do not know why do I get such high temperature spikes...
What is the cause of that GPU usages and temperatures?

When you ATL-TAB out of the game, the game is still running and your CPU and GPU are still rendering the game with the new added requirements of your desktop and any processes that you add such as browser or any other applications.

I normally switch to the game map and ALT_TAB out if I need to do anything on the same machine. I use v-sync to limit the framerate of the game to 60 fps to match my monitors best working frequency.

Just don't ALT-TAB out for more than a short period and things will remain just fine.

I also use vsync. I guess that does make sense, I will try opening the map, then alt tabbing and seeing if this 30 fps background app thing does the job on top of that

I think this is a known issue? I remember seeing on SCS Forums a discussion about this and devs say it's being worked on.
Theres no way to fix that and i dont think they care.

It is possible to remedy the behaviour of a game or application when minimized to desktop, but it may take some work to rewrite all the code to do this.

It is possible - if it wasn't, then all games and applications would always work in this way. I have no doubt that if SCS devs have said that it is being worked on, then at some point in the future it will be less of an issue because they have implemented the changes to prevent this behaviour from happening.

If you don't think it can be fixed and you also think that SCS don't care, then I doubt that YOU care either way.

Try having some patience and being positive rather than just mouthing off.:104:

@SoldieR
I have the same problem. No game I know of does this except ETS2.
