[Won't Buy] Heart of Russia DLC
I am deeply sorry, but I won't buy this DLC anymore.

I know some may feel differently, but for me the red line of gaming and reality is crossed. I feels sorry for all those devs spending countless hours of their life into this DLC, but personally I can't buy it.

Please lock this thread soon enough. I just wanted to say what I feel right now and I certainly don't want to start any discussion on this topic.

To all SCS devs, thank you for all your hard work and please stay safe if you are in Ukraine right now. We are all with you!

Here's my problem -
Yes they are pulling their weight. (wrong expression most likely) but why would you not buy this? It does not support Russia in any way.

Well it's not as if they are forcing me to purchase their content, it's up to individuals which DLC's they choose to purchase or not to purchase, and I am sure their decision have nothing to do with the people of that country.
Fair enough. was it never avadiable or have they removed it from store rn?

This is a difficult situation for SCS. It certainly isn't going to sell well anymore with the current situation and abandoning a project will cost them a lot of money, they are not exactly a huge studio that can afford to do this without some financial burden.

While it would be unfortunate for Russian players, this project does not seem financially viable anymore. Games should be about avoiding escapism, however I don't think the PR would be great for SCS.

Perhaps they could pivot and create "Heart of Ukraine"? Maybe create lower EU like Serbia, Greece first. Then revisit Russia in a couple years with a lot of the work put away in a vault until then.

I have all the DLCs but I won't buy it either. The idea of driving through Russia is not exciting at the moment.

It's the same trees and roads as in all the other countries. You just don't like the labels. Buy it and make a mod to replace city names with something from fantasyland you don't find offensive. :paradigmhead:

I can understand the message they are sending but as it stands for it to ring clearly, the developers should be taking action to suspend their development of this DLC for the foreseeable future and revisit it at another point when things are settled. I know it might be controversial, but if the message is as important as it appears, then let it stand in the clearest possible terms.

I'm not going near the issue of Ukraine, it's not for me to judge if it's right or wrong. My only concern is that the refugees remain outside this conflict and left unharmed.

It might very well contain statues, monuments and what not that can be seen as offensive in a political context, as some contrast sharply against modern Ukraine which wants to get away from that aspect of their past altogether.

The Russian Paint Jobs DLC ist the only Paint Job DLC that's mit in discount right nie. I'm pretty sure that's not a coincidence.

Regarding buy or din't buy Heart of Russia it certainly is a difficult and hard to answer question. I man, I definitely will buy the announced "Ukraine DLC" and probably never use it. Why not doing the same with the HoR-Map-DLC? At least one would have supported the devs then...

Even if the Russia DLC is suspended, the developers could work on bringing Moldova into the game as a free addition to road to the black sea DLC instead, if nothing else at least they can keep going with the already existing DLC's for the short term until they make their next decision.
