Can Demo players and Full Game players Play multiplayer with each other?

My friend wants to try the game by playing multiplayer with me and i was wondering if the demo and people who bought the full game can play together?

not that i am aware of. the Demo is not on the same game version as the full game and i as far as i know the game version for the demo pre-dates the introduction of multiplayer

Even if it would be the same Patch version, it would (probably) not work as steam does not recognices a valid owned license to the game which is needed for certain steam Features to be used in a game.

There's another game on Steam that I've played recently that uses the same functionality to provide multiplayer. Motor Town. In that game, demo players and players that have bought the game can not play together due to the way Steam matchmaking works. Even though the only restriction to demo players is a level cap(of 2). However, demo mode players can play with mode players without issue.

As ETS2/ATS relys on the same system, it would be the same situation, assuming the demo ever gets updated to 1.42.
