can't go above 150km/h in single player, even tho my truck would be perfectly capable to do so
for some reason my truck is limited to 150 km/h in single player, I've found no fixes to this issue, please help

Horsepower becomes meaningless at some point. If you have 500, 700, 1000 or 2000 hp does not matter for final speed, just for the time needed getting to it. As people have written it is just a matter of gear and axle ratios. I have beaten a 380 hp Iveco T mod truck from the late 70es to more than 100 km/h - 97 km/h being legal limit in the UK and who does not exceed by 3 to 5? It works but it takes time.
150 - 170 is simply the speed achieved at maximum RPM with the usual gearboxes and axles. That means at the legal limit of 80 - 90 km/h the engine is running very economically. You would need a gearbox mod with longer ratios for the higher gears to increase speed. Forget about horsepower increase. The normal 16 litre engines from Scania, Volvo, MAN or Mercedes should perfectly do the job. DAF, Renault and Iveco 13 litre engines may be a little weak on horsepower and torque for your game style, although you never should underestimate the Iveco Cursor series.

What ratio is your highest gear? Do your mate have the same transmission and high-gear ratio? That's the limiting factor. Not horsepower or number of gears.

Don't use vanilla Volvo for max speed. Engines are capped at 2,000 rpm so you ends up at 150 Km/h. Mod your engine if you want to keep using Volvo, or both engine and transmission.

150 kmh, sweet swirling onion rings Batman. Wow! Trucks in general were not design to handle this speed. The airflow across the body does weird things with a big cab vehicle. Cars are somewhat different. If you are going this speed, I hope you have a little weight on the trailer, for Pete sakes don't try this Bob-tailing. Its suicide. Ever had this truck up to a high speed and c' boom a knuckle-head pulls out in front of you and you have to get on the brakes, like HARD. And you noticed your trucks takes a dive towards the left or right with no warning?
Well, the designers/programmers of ET2 got this one right. On a real Tractor, all your weight on a (COE) or Cabover is one the front axles. When you get on the brakes hard at really any speeds, all this weight turns into Kinetic Energy and transfers to the front axles and the rear wheels are really at this point skimming the surface. When COE/ Cab-overs were popular in the USA hey-days. These were very dangerous machine to drive Bob-tailing in the rain. But these type of vehicle are still very popular in the EU today. That's why I love them still today. 150 kmh, man thats funny right there. May the force be with you Skywalker Luke.

I've found the problem and I feel stupid for it. I think overall it was the weight of the truck.
