can't go above 150km/h in single player, even tho my truck would be perfectly capable to do so
for some reason my truck is limited to 150 km/h in single player, I've found no fixes to this issue, please help

Horsepower becomes meaningless at some point. If you have 500, 700, 1000 or 2000 hp does not matter for final speed, just for the time needed getting to it. As people have written it is just a matter of gear and axle ratios. I have beaten a 380 hp Iveco T mod truck from the late 70es to more than 100 km/h - 97 km/h being legal limit in the UK and who does not exceed by 3 to 5? It works but it takes time.
150 - 170 is simply the speed achieved at maximum RPM with the usual gearboxes and axles. That means at the legal limit of 80 - 90 km/h the engine is running very economically. You would need a gearbox mod with longer ratios for the higher gears to increase speed. Forget about horsepower increase. The normal 16 litre engines from Scania, Volvo, MAN or Mercedes should perfectly do the job. DAF, Renault and Iveco 13 litre engines may be a little weak on horsepower and torque for your game style, although you never should underestimate the Iveco Cursor series.

Final gear ratio of the transmission is the limiting factor. And since semi trucks aren't built/setup for speed, they don't generally make transmissions that can go faster.

You could mod a transmission to go faster, the game will allow it. ;)

150km/h is more than fast enough. You are already heavily speeding at that point. Maybe play a racing game instead.

Let me play the game how I want to play it. I'm not talking about multiplayer, I'm not here to ruin anyone's fun. Very helpful comment thx

My mate has the same truck setup as me but the game doesn't limit him, he can go over 160 km/h. So this is unluckily not the solution, but thanks for your comment

literally the same exact setup?
I guess you tried the no speed limitation on the options menu right?
I'll check if I can go that fast

taking a roundabout at 150km/h in ets2 is something that really pumps your blood lol

Were you trying it on the same road? Maybe they were going downhill sligthly

There is no game limitation other than the Speed Limiter option which will hold you to 90kph. With that option turned off, you can go as fast as your transmission gearing (and gravity) will allow. The game won't prevent it. ;)

same setup, no speed limitation active

Are you hauling the same thing? Weight will have a huge affect.

I tried it with a mod that allows me to mount a 4000 hp engine and now I am at 100 km/h in 1 sec but the game still limits me at 180km/h xd. If I mount the old engine back the limit is 150 km/h again. It's pretty weird.

Even without cargo the limit is 150 km/h

More HP won't necessarily give you more speed. It will give you higher speed in less time. But again, it's about the transmission gear ratios; specifically the final gear. You could have 10 million HP engine but a short final gear will still limit your top speed. ;)

It works with the 24 gear transmission. But I still don't get why it doesn't work without mods. Thanks tho thats the best best solution so far
