Phone APP support. Use your real phone as a GPS in-game.

I was recently playing Arma, and was just thinking to myself while I had a beer - and thought, damn. It would be cool if I could install a app on my real-life phone and use it as a in-game GPS when doing drives in Euro Truck Sim.

What do you guys think?

I use SIM Dashboard on my tablet which sits on support by beside my wheel.
Not only for this but also all my other racing games.

Will be adding map to second page when it supports PM so I can switch between the two by just tapping on screen

Both of those apps just show your position on the map, not the route you have to follow.

Indeed and this is true of any external app - the game telemetry does not include route planning so displaying the route is impossible currently.

Yep, but it doesn't bother me too much as I plan my route beforehand and use dashboard GPS (as in r/l) with zoom in/out buttons on tablet.
I s'pose if I used a bigger tablet (or got another one) I could make keyboard redundant and just have mouse and wheel

I also use SimDashboard, on a 10" Tablet. Doubles as a button box and the map.

Why senseless? Its personal choice like all things in this game.
Having map on another page saves bringing up intrusive pop-up window on monitor ruining the immersion (for me) which is what I'm aiming at (getting rid of pop-ups in-game)
I use my phone as GPS on my bike but use dashboard GPS in car.
The only time I use full map is to set route at the beginning or sometimes I will open map when resting or pull over to rest area which is how i do it in r/l after all you cant open map at 70mph on a bike.

I have 90+mods (inc PM) without which the game would not be immersive but THIS IS MY CHOICE.
No doubt there are some who would have me declared a heretic and then burned alive for daring to use mods
