IBERIA Map Boring

I find IBERIA DLC boring, almost all roads are highway . No fun just driving at highways. I hope there will be more alternative tiny connection roads at next updates.

I'm pretty sure an irl long distance driver also drives on highways most of the time.

It certainly is true that in some regions in ETS2 you're more likely to be on 2 lane, the Baltic States spring to mind, and there is a lot of multi lane highway in Iberia. I just guess that SCS feels their renderings are good representations of what they have seen in each area?

Exactly, I reckon if anyone asked an long haul truck driver about this sort of thing.. I reckon they will reply with, if they can help it they will stick to any major arterial road they can..

More so if they are working for a major haulage company where time is money, and the quicker they can safely get to their destination the better..

And even a self employed truck driver would probably do the same, as whoever they are hauling cargo for will be waiting for that cargo to arrive.. And as before time is money, and if late a rather annoyed customer.. :)

IRL, truckers probably take highways to make deliveries but......ETS2 is a game and it is more fun to drive on smaller roads no matter if it is more lenghty ( one of the many reasons I prefer ATS, as it have more small and dirt roads). I noticed the same thing day one while playing on this DLC, too much highways, not enough secondary roads.....A little boring to be honest. Don't get me wrong, the landscapes are beatifull and detailed but not enough to make me think that, next time, I will check some youtubes videos of the next DLC before buying it. It's the first time that i'm a little disappointed about a dlc for a SCS game. Let's hope that Russia is not an another highway paradise.

The road system is iberia fine, the only thing I don't like about it is it the side wall roads simalar to this screenshot activates the same horrible echo sound that bridges and tunnels use and sounds like you are driving through a water pipe, They really need to fix that audio effect to something better

its great to see the game getting better graphics wise with each update but the audio system still needs work

You can always go drive Poland or Romania if you like singlelane roads. Romania is even up to ATS standards gfx speaking.

then I guess only specific sound cards will support it, game sounds are great in other games I play so its not a device problem, its just the audio system of this specific game

Nope playing vanilla profile, my sound card is a Sound Blaster Audigy 5 RX

After a test, I now have to correct myself here. :(

I also get echo if I use the air horn in such a place.
That I have not discovered it until now is probably due to the fact that I do not sit and play with the air horn all the time ...
- In fact, I almost never use the horn as I know that the ai do not react to it.

But I do not think it is unrealistic that sounds with high volume will echo such places.

I actually have all the DLCs in both games and you're right, The rttbs DLC is my favorite one in ETS2, I would say that Italy is fine too, the secondary roads are fun to drive there. But I as said, A little disappointed with the Iberia DLC as it is so big while having so little fun roads to drive.....Like a Germany, more beautiful but as boring at the same time.

Just adding the base DLC map to the game is the first step I am sure when they get all the DLC's done they want for the entire game, they will return to previous areas of the game and add more details and side roads.
